So rather than than us and our glasses of milk, where's the video attacking the greedy and power hungry corporations and governments of the world who are committing the worst environmental crimes, far more detrimental and exponentially damaging to the planet about their malls, towering buildings, facilities, factories, waste, and other resource siphoning places and practices running all year long (even now while everyone is at home. But hey. milk.
I've said before, I guess we are the easier target than those multi-billion dollar entities backed armies of lawyers. This is shifting responsibility, like telling us it's our responsibility not to go grocery shopping because we encourage the store to use more power and water when the real responsibility lies with the corporation that owns the store.

Remember, kids: cows, like humans, only produce milk to feed their young. In order to get milk, dairy farmers must artificially inseminate the cow. When she gives birth, they take her baby away, usually within 24 hours. The separation is traumatic for the mother and the calf. Male calves are slaughtered, as they are of no use to the dairy industry. Female calves are subjected to the same fate as their mothers. Dairy cows succumb to exhaustion after 4-5 years and can no longer produce milk, so they are slaughtered for low-grade meat. Yet, a cow's natural lifespan is 18-22 years.
They don't have to do that to almonds, soybeans, and oats.

Environmental impacts and exploitation of animals in creating dairy milk motivated my transition to plant-based options. For cow milk, one strategy to increase output is to keep the female cow in a continuous cycle of pregnancy through artificial insemination so milk is being produced. Additionally, they are separated from their offspring shortly after birth, which are destined for the same fate or shipped to be slaughtered for their meat. A lot of non-human animal suffering is made invisible to us because we benefit from it, but we can rise from our own ignorance.

Oat milk is the secret king of milk-alternatives. I still drink whole milk for dietary reasons but I'll add the thickened (sold as barista style in this case) oat milk to my coffee or cereal just because I love the taste. That it's less morally dubious compared to regular milk and less environmentally impactful than almond milk is just gravy, to me.
The idea of pouring cereal on your cereal is a bit weird if you think about it, though

Our household switched from dairy to oatmilk a few months ago and we don t miss dairy milk. If you ve tried soymilk and not been a fan of the flavour I strongly recommend oatmilk. It s as creamy as dairy and has a mild, subtly sweet flavour. I like it so much I drink it straight but we find it works well in everything from coffee, to cooking, and of course cereal. Unsurprisingly it makes amazing oatmeal!

The gentleman cited at the end as Educator is an engineer with Unilever. Unilever is referenced as a multi-billion euro global brand development company of consumer goods. Things like this should be given full disclosure at the beginning of the video. Ted-Ed, you need to elevate your game. How simple would it be to require this of your presenters?

While it is true that soy bean farms are a major driver of deforestation, the great majority of soy crops is used for intensive farming animal feeds and not directly for humans such as in soy milk production. But I approve, oat milk is the best anyway, both on the flavour and environmental levels!

You explained how we get oat, soy & almond milk but why don't you show how we get cows milk. Such as force impregnating a cow, taking her baby away, milk them til they are worthless then slaughter them because they can't produce anymore. Don't forget, if you're gonna explain one, explain all.

2: 12 no the truth is that soy causes gynecomastia in men and has vitoestrogen. So yeah it does cause a hormonal imbalance in men. It's not a coincidence that men who over-consume soy milk start developing tits. And it's no coincidence that they also become unhinged far left extremist crazies.
