1947 England became immortalised as being one of the worst winters on record. Many Hill farmers lost almost their entire flocks of sheep. So bad was it that many of them lost their livelihoods. In my living memory 1976 was a really bad winter in the northern parts of the UK.

Yes, I do wish there was a way the pictures could be shifted to, o e side so the descriptions wouldn’t overlap and were along side the photos! I like keeping a screen shot if many of them just for me!

Some totally terrific photos, including the one at 10: 55 showing a milkman making a delivery. m In my opinion, The Time Then is the cream of the crop.
