When in a charter airplane Never be in a got-to-get-there situation. Fatal flights often. Rhodes pilot certification had expired and he wasn't current. I am not a pilot myself but from reading a lot of Kathryn Reports good flying skills diminish over time. Cline's pilot and her manager like so many other fatal plane pilots was a VFR only rated pilot who was flying in IMC conditions. Ironic the reason for their trip was to attend a memorial service for a performer who had recently died. When you loose control of the plane your doomed. Jim Reeves death very similar to Patsy Cline but he was the pilot. The 70's band Chase. Most airplane fatal crashes are a product of ADM. Even mechanical problems are due to someone wanting to skimp on maintenance cost. Plane ownership is not to be taken lightly.

It was said that Jiles Perry(The Big Bopper)Richardson, Sr. was 35 years old when he died, not 28. Yeah for the most part the majority of the airplane/helicopter deaths are I would believe about 98 percent preventable. To be realistic, all machines are faulty. Definitely the machines that carry lives. Life is never risk free and won't be, even if you ride bicycles. A lot can happen to end a very human life. It helps a great deal in this situation if this is a relatively well operating machine to begin with, don't be anyone that's stoned or drunk operating it, too. Just plain be that someone that can run it safely for all those on board. But even with all that, that won't mean something terrible is not going to horribly damage life.

Let's set the record straight on Croce. His pilot walking to the airport had nothing to do with the crash. However, the inadequacy of the FAA provided airport charts did. His wife sued the FAA and and after 30 years, they admitted faults in the charting of the airport, where a tree line was not displayed. I loved this man and followed his music, his death, and his wife and son's survival. I owe him tremendously, he saved my life.

Man. it would suck to be killed in a plane crash at such a young age, but man. to be a millionaire, and well on your way to being one of the greatest artists of all time (several on this list were exactly that, that would suck even worse. Goes to show you nobody is off deaths list. Rip to all these ladies and gents, and thanks to them for their contributions to our culture. They're all immortalized for sure.

Most obvious of those left off the list was, of course, Gentlemen Jim Reeves who was killed at 39 in July of 1964. Also missed Hawkshaw Hawkins and Cowboy Copus who died with Patsy Cline. Kyo Sakamoto who had the monster hit Sukiyaki (#1 for 3 weeks in 1963) was killed in the worst airplane crash in history in 1985 at the age of 44, one of 504 fatalities on that plane.

I'll never get over Aaliyah's death. I remember every aspect of that moment it came across the screen on MTV to the next day. I was soo numb until the crying spell hit. Also, I'm getting chills down my spine for learning some of these people were supposed to be/was in my home state of Louisiana.
OAN: Why wasn't Kobe Bryan's death mention on this list?

Kyu Sakamoto, the fellow who scored a #1 hit in 1963 with Sukiyaki was killed in a plane crash on August 12, 1985. He was one of the 520 people killed when the passenger plane crashed into a mountain in Japan. It was the largest ever death toll for a single plane accident. He was only 43 when he died.

The Otis Redding/Bar-Kays plane crash is a huge part of Madison, WI history. A significant portion of the plane was never recovered and is likely still down at the bottom of the lake. Oh yeah. the lake is pronounced ma-NOH-nah, not ma-NAH-nah.

Kind of ironic the plane Ricky Nelson was in, at one time, belonged to Jerry Lee Lewis. With the recent passing of Don Every, Jerry Lee is now the ONLY remaining member of the initial Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class of 1986. Ricky was inducted in 1987.

Amazon prime has a series called Autopsy. It talks about how famous people died, John Denver episode seemed suspicious. They said the airplane mechanics, told him it was safe to fly. The plans creator told John the same thing very weird

I've heard this before but not sure how true it is: Aerosmith was looking to lease a plane and pilot and they looked at one and decided it wasn't safe and didn't true the pilot. They turned it down. Lynyrd Skynyrd took that plane.

Not everyone perished instantly in Aaliyahs crash. Ill never forget reading either, ESSENSE magazine or Sister to Sister magazine. But, a witness said her Bodyguard asked for water. They also mentioned them being burned badly.

PASTAFARIANS,
I an unable to recall what year this incident occurred or any other details, but James Horner (composer of the music from James Cameron's film Titanic; he even had a small cameo) also perished in a plane crash.

The plane wrecks that kill everyone on board or everyone on board both aircrafts in a collision in the sky or on the runway involving two or more aircrafts are the only interesting thing going up to eleven

Great artists that have died from pilot error have absolutely changed the course of music.
Makes you wonder how many other industries have been changed forever because of pilot error?
