A very wise person once wrote Above all things know this; everything sucks all the time. Sometimes it sucks less than at other times, but it always sucks. It only looks like it sucks less for someone else, from their point of view it seems to suck less for you. It's almost as if the only reason the universe, as you choose to understand it, gave you consciousness was for the sole purpose of permitting you to realize how miserable you are. However, it's worse than that; The universe does not care about you or how much misery you think you're enduring.
I don't remember which philosopher said that. Maybe Socrates or Schopenhauer, possibly Descartes. Someone like that though. Most likely someone with an 's' in their name. Pretty sure about that.

As polarized and divided as we are now in 2024, seems like we’re going through one of the worst times in history. Future historians (assuming some other countries in the world survive) will refer to us as the culture and nation that destroyed itself with extreme regression to tribalism instead of evolving to progress. I’m genuinely concerned and worried about our current situation.

0: 36 The Netflix tv series Decameron drops on July 25th.
It is a medieval black comedy about the wealthy during the bubonic plague.
It is inspired by the classic short-story collection The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio.

It's fascinating to see that people were wearing face masks back in 1918 during a pandemic. What's more fascinating is that any rational human being in 2020 would think that face masks were a global conspiracy against Donald Trump.

And to think people today, in somewhat prominent/political power, praise Mao and hold him in high regard. They are the same type of people who also think Communism and Socialism are wonderful, ideological forms of government.

Historically speaking, WW1 has been overshadowed by its sequel, WW2, which had a more memorable villain and a storyline that was easier to follow. XDDD I don't think anyone has quite put it like that before, but, yeah!

Atilla never invaded Rome. He indirectly destabilized the region by pushing the Goths into the area, but your information is incorrect. Matter of fact, he was persuaded not to sack Rome by Pope Leo I.

If they don't do a Best Year To Be Alive video, I'll be very disappointed, lol.
Seriously, in 1918 the pandemic killed nearly 700k people, and you think the mid-1800's was the worst in the US

I think it should be stated Columbus and the rest of the Spanish and European Raiders may have taken the pox over to the Americas, but in return, they brought syphilis back to Europe

2020 was horrid.
So bad, it felt like someone was time traveling back over and over, trying to fix it, but kept making it worse.
