Just to point out how dumb this video is: 1: 32 -If you'd be relaxing at the beach at that time, expect a severe sunburn. - Well thats your smallest problem: Sand (SiO2) being reduced to Silicon-> Feet in sand -> Feet in Silicon. Ocean-> Water -> H2O -> Reduced to H2: You swimming in water -> You falling onto silicon, cause Hydrogen pulls away. You containing 80% water -> You containing 80% Hydrogen -> You dead. But yeah, breathing isnt a problem, cause you can hold your breath for 30 sec.
Basically imagine the following: Everything within the core of the earth remains same, cause its not oxidized. Everything on the surface being reduced to elemental stuff.
Also: -Without oxygen theres no fire-. Thats a thing of definition, but its interesting to think about our sun in that regards and how energy is emitted via a nuclear fusion process.

The initial premise of the video seemed to be -the atmosphere loses oxygen (maybe replaced by an equal mass of nitrogen, but otherwise nothing changes-.
But then it turned into -. And your ears would explode from the pressure change, and buildings would collapse, and the oceans would evaporate, and the earth's crust would implode, and. -
So yeah, the premise of what you're trying to explain is a bit. confusing.
Also, what happened to the -FIVE SECONDS- premise? Are you really going to get severe sunburn in 5 seconds? Would planes really fall out of the sky, or would their engines mostly stall for 5 seconds before being restarted?

You'd think nothing serious would happen, but it goes far deeper than that. An example is concrete, without oxygen, this strong material would lose most of its binding properties, and would simply turn to different chemical elements. So cities would collapse in these mere five seconds. As would many other things besides concrete.
And since all oxygen disappears in that one moment, your entire body would also be stripped of it. So on and so forth.

The guy has no clue what he is speaking about. Removing oxygen from air or all oxygen atoms?
If the latter happens then there won't be any water too and humans are like 70% water.
-Your body won't notice- then proceeds to saying that your ears will explore because of low air pressure.
Atleast read your script twice before making videos

I'm quite sure that my body would notice 5 seconds of having pure hydrogen gas blood running through its veins instead of water-based blood.
Like that unbound hydrogen would form H2 instantly, exothermically, instantly cooking the entire inside of the body evenly.
Also, the second oxygen reappears everything of course goes boom.

they go to the extent of talking about how oxygen in the crust would be gone but they just completely forgot about our old buddy pal H2O like its no big deal
-So, the earth's crust is gone, but at least you can enjoy some good ol dasani water! -

It wouldn't be like holding in your breath, because holding your breath you're still using up oxygen in your body, until it is depleted and you pass out. I would assume everyone would pass out? I don't see anyone mentioning that.

how weird. oxygen would get removed from concrete, earth crust, ozone - but all the oxygen in our bodies will be intact? If we take out all oxygen from all of our molecules, there will be no water in us, and we're 70% water.

Oh wow. Yeah when you first read the title we only think of this from a human perspective not a planetary one. I forgot from science class that the earths crust had so. kuch oxygen in it. Yeah like everything would be destroyed

what would happen to water since it contains oxygen? even human body is 80% water, of which 16/18s or 89% is oxygen.
If oxygen is gone, the human body would lose some 70% of the mass.
Water would turn into hydrogen.

i was going to assume the atmosphere went to -zero- pressure.
Immediately the Oceans would boil. (not from heat, that's just what water does at low pressure)
Go see water in pressure chamber for yourselves.

I thought you meant atmospheric oxygen. If literally every oxygen atom disappears. You would instantly die. DNA contains oxygen, cell membranes contain oxygen, etc. Without oxygen, you'd become a dead blob.

Planes would not fall from the sky. The engines would stall and in 5 seconds could restart. Planes can glide for quite a long time, especially at over 30k feet in the air.

So in this scenario, all the oxygen bonded to important chemicals in the human body survives unscathed, but all the oxygen bound as rust doesn't? Why the arbitrary distinction?

Isn't there a difference between no new oxygen being generated for 5 seconds and all oxygen just ceasing to exist for 5 seconds. I don't get it. Which are we debating here?

Another thing that would happen is that literally all water would turn into hydrogen because water is made out of two oxygen molecules and one hydrogen molecule.

Okay but what would happen if ONLY the oxygen in the air above the surface was removed and you happened to have time to prepare and plug your ears?

1: 51 Doesn't it also means that the atmosphere also loses 21% of air pressure, eventually making pressure equal with our tympanic cavity?

Gotta love the seas evaporate/disintegrate into H2 (with a little explosion after 5 seconds (assuming the oxygen wont bind with the H2 again)

But oxygen is not only thing this want every elements of air is important and for 5 seconds it can adjust with other air particles

How about What if everything turned gold for 14 seconds. -
Thanks for wasting my time. Why not just do an informed video on oxygen?

a plane can easily just glide without power for 5 secs, no drama there. The ones taking off will probably have problems though.

The first thing isn't even true. Put a block of concrete in a vaccume chamber, it's not gonna -instantly destroy itself. -

Why would the earth complete collapse into itself? This atmosphere hasn't been around forever nor has oxygen.

Also, all the water in the world would turn into hydrogen, meaning gas. Humas are mostly water by the way.
