Although I totally understand the point of this video and thought it was pretty accurate we have to remember America technically did exist duringf the middle ages it was just the native Mezo-American's not Europeans. Also Europe in the middle ages was what it was because of the way it developed over centuries castles didn't just pop up one year and the culture became what it was, it developed from nomadic tribes over centuries the same way the America's did. Therefore I would have liked to see this video go more in the Direction of What America would have been like TODAY if the Mayan's, Aztec's, Inca, the Navajo, Apache, Cherokee, and Iroquois nation had remained supreme in the America's if European conquest hadn't colonized it. That would definitely be an interesting video idea though and one I would definitely like to see.

The South outside of Florida has nowhere near a tropical climate. The winters throughout most of the south are actually the most similar to Winters in Britain and Western Europe. I don't disagree that disease would make medieval settlement of the south very different but the climate is not tropical in any way. Some people would even say its a stretch to consider much of the south Subtropical. I hope that I am not being too critical but I felt the need to clarify that since many people seem to like to compare the climate of the Southern US to Africa even though the two places have very different climates and temperatures.
However, I really love your videos and I really hope that you continue to make more. They are so interesting, fun, and informative.

Ontario and Michigan have uniquely good geographies in this world. They will be powerful states that can easily defend themselves, thanks to bodies of water around them, and as such will not have to expend all their resources on defense. Their only issue will be that they'll be rivals right next to each other. If they were a single country, it could probably form the core of a single Great Lakes Empire stretching in all directions, but particularly to the south. Nova Scotia also has some reasonable advantages, even if it has little good soil. The climate is very oceanic for the eastern US.

California central valley was totally different before US settlements, containing 3 major lakes along the San Juaquin River. Its naturally a very wet and fertile region we've just irrigated it into a dustbowl over time by draining those lakes thus destroying the river's path. So actually whoever controlled San Francisco would have an enormous and productive hinterland with one access point and surrounded by mountains. So central California would be possibly the largest and richest of any fuedal American states

The only disagreement I have with you is that I believe the Great Lakes region would be one nation since a mercantile empire would develop. I see Detroit as a city like Constantinople, especially using the Detroit- Belle Isle- Windsor stranglehold and the Lower Detroit- Grosse Isle- Lower Windsor stranglehold. Further since the Middle Ages where based off of the Roman Empire a Great Lakes- Ohio River- Mississippi River - Missouri River Empire would develop.

The Upper Peninsula is not that terrible, and would probably be a stable country. It was just unattractive to American settlers who had better land available elsewhere. It would have a level of development similar to medieval Sweden. Despite 3/4 of the land being poor for farming, it has a good geopolitical situation with easy water transportation and natural defensibility, being a peninsula, much of which has a big swamp in the middle.

Re Las Vegas not existing. I disagree with you, because the original Las Vegas spring supplied plenty of water to the city before the Colorado river was dammed in the 1930s. The springs stopped producing the great volume of water after the aquifer was tapped in the 1930s. The Las Vegas springs are located in a very interesting nature preserve with a water conservation museum.

The north west would definitely believe in a buddism like religion and I also think Ohio's farm lands would play a much bigger part and would make Cleveland/Toledo much more important cities. From the western plains to the foothills in the east are farm lands and many lakes, ponds, creeks, and even swamps in some areas making lots of areas for profitable farming.
