About the breath: I've been doing yoga and meditation for a long time and while I made progress, I never understood how the breath alone could calm me. Turns out I had muscles issues and wasn't using the proper muscles to breathe. Now that I know, I'm working on improving that and the more I do the more I realize how amazing the breath can be for helping tame emotions in a way that helps to make better decisions and have a better experience. I would love some info about how muscles in the body can be so tied to how the brain processes experiences and emotions.

When I was little I couldn-t tell faces apart for almost a year, everyone thought I was just playing or making an odd joke, and it eventually went away. Still don-t know what the heck that was. Frustrating phenomenon to describe especially with such a limited vocabulary at that age, and everyone just laughing and never understanding. Maybe that was for the better anyway, maybe trying to cure it would have put me on a way different path.

So if it's possible to implant memories, is it possible then by that logic to implant data? Think learning kung fu like in the Matrix. But I'm thinking more as someone who is struggling to learn and retain software development theory. Can that be -downloaded- into a brain somehow? Or would something similar, even in a more primitive form, be possible in the future?

For anyone loving the Amygdala talk check out the God Helmet experiments, I-m pretty sure it wasn-t very scientific of a set of tests and more a set of explorations but it-s still interesting stuff. Also recommend the book The Self Delusion or the Self Illusion I can-t remember the name but it-s a fascinating book on identity.

He always spoke like -we can do bla bla using different techniques- but never explained them. I think neuroscientists don-t know what they are doing but hoping one day they will know. I have never seen one saying something certain. Yes we already know our brain is perfect stop saying that!

Taking a deep breath also means that when you release the breath you relax the muscles of your neck and shoulders and those around the ribs as well. This causes you to relax and grow calmer which allows better thought.

Yes through hypnosis you can fake or imprint false memories into someone else-s mind, but you need to be very very very careful, because if you do that it will start to infringe on their real memories.

It feels weird. I have another language in my head. My native language is Thai, but I think in English, and I dream in English. I saw a weird chess move. Something happened to my brain.

Now I want to sit through an entire lecture on the subject. Well, I did through plenty since I took a couple of neuroscience courses but this guy would be great at lectures.

Oxytocin is the chemical related to social bonding, feeling good after an interaction (but not arguments, unless it's a conflict discussed without causing injury or bad stress.
