I think it would look better with a metal seat rather than wood, that way the wood is still the focal point, but an amazing design all the same as we can all see.

I love the chair and Griffon too, but putting the wood on the seat at the end is a buzz kill. Would be so much better with just the carve.

I would have carved two cats laying on the arms and plunge cut into the back to make a more patterned effect, maybe two rooks on the back.
