The only thing I disagree with her on is that reproduction is an essential medical treatment. I don't think it's essential. Reproduction is essential to the human race, yes, but that doesn't mean it's essential for EVERYONE to do. It is elective, you're choosing to have a baby for yourself, not because human reproduction is low. We are not an endangered species, I think that's why these societies and insurance see it as elective.
I love working in infertility, and I love learning everyone's different opinions on things! Ive worked with some of the nicest people in the world in infertility clinics

Reproduction is essential to the human race, yes, but that doesn't mean it's essential for EVERYONE to do. It is elective, you're choosing to have a baby for yourself, not because human reproduction is low. We are not an endangered species, I think that's why these societies and insurance see it as elective.

I was really into this segment until Dr. Chen made a face of disgust when it came to sperm donors potentially having HIV, Hepatitis, or other communicable diseases. Not necessarily advocating that they should be allowed to donate, but I think it is highly unprofessional as a physician to exhibit such behaviors (i. e. negative facial expressions) when discussing individuals who are living with these illnesses. It perpetuates the stereotype that these individuals are somehow dirty and thereby deserving of less respect.

3: 53. Fascinating video but can't believe that medical professionals still promote damaging misconceptions around autism. As an autistic person, I certainly would not consider myself the result of 'low quality' sperm. I would not have the wonderful career that I so fortunately have were I not autistic, a career that allows me to contribute heavily to improving others' quality of life. I - along with so many others on the spectrum - am incredibly proud and glad to be autistic; strengths, challenges and all!

I have already taken the vaccine but serious question.
Its suspicious how a majority of the doctors are trying so hard to convince the idea thats the vaccines is completely 100% safe.
As if any long term data has been collected and they can be absolutely sure with their claim.
Like please be honest and say -There is no obvious short term side effects to the vaccines but we have no idea if there are long term consequences-

Maybe I-m selfish but I don-t think everyone should reproduce. I seriously think if someone wanted a child to love then they can adopt. If you can-t reproduce it just wasn-t meant to be but that doesn-t mean you can-t be a loving parent. That should be the goal not reproducing- that-s why there-s such an overpopulation and so many issues in the world. Just because we have the technology doesn-t mean we should do it.

The -Mother Nature designed us to have 10 kids by the age of 25 and then die of exhaustion at the age of 40- is wrong though. Pre-aagricultural times women used to have kids on average every 4 years or so, and it's evaluated that those who made it to the age of 15 had a life expectancy of around 70.

17: 13 I wasn't thinking about my fertility so much as what sort of mom I'd be, but when I first started planning to have a baby, I started regularly practicing mindfulness meditation in order to improve my ability to regulate my emotions and cope with stress. I highly recommend that approach!

I definitely disagree, IVF is rightfully expensive. As a person technically working in the field of science you-d think she-d understand the massive impact overpopulation has! - we definitely do not need to worry about continuing the human race, we-ve got it covered a bit too much.

I think the sperm count declining thing is the nature's way to curb humanity's overpopulation. Nature is quite intelligent you see. It's quite odd that there's almost equal amount of men and women and nature's trying it's best to balance that. It's really weird that nature knows that

Hey, great insights. thanks! What about egg donation? I read that women. especially those younger than 30 can make money with it, but what does it actually do to the body and how risky is it? I suppose it's not the same as for guys when they just go to a sperm bank.
