So Interesting to hear that about the toe position - makes so much sense how I was really good at climbing when my ex took me to this outdoor climbing wall thing. Lol. I was a dancer growing up - so everything we do is on our toes, and I-m flexible, so when they put me on the wall - I was straight up that thing in less than 60 seconds. Lol. Every level/route they put me on - I was straight up to the top easy. They kept saying I had to have been climbing before but I hadn-t. They just kept putting me on harder and harder ones and I did them all in Less than 2 minutes-. Until they put me on some where I just physically couldn-t reach the holds anymore (I-m 5-3-)-. But hearing how he explains some of that stuff it makes complete sense a dancer would be really good at it. Lol

In my town the bouldering gym is actually the cheapest option to climb by a huge mark and theres also an outdoor bouldering wall at a uni that is maintained by the students and completely free, whenever I look at the cost of ropes and quickdraws tho I'm like yeaaaa I'll just keep bouldering at least I avoid tendinitis that way

My friends were recently talking about sports and someone asked the question what was the greatest ever sporting achievement, there were many suggestions, my reply was Alex Honnold's free soloing of El Capitan. They laughed at me UNTIL they watched the documentary! I won the beers.

Given his Jedi climbing skills, am I weird for being impressed in literally every Alexvid with his vocabulary and mastery of language, given that his background is science/math - fields in which even extremely accomplished academics often do not have great language skills?

Would love to see more high tech materials in climbing equipment. Really liked the Grivel carbon fibre ice axes but companies should experiment more with f1 and aerospace materials. Many people who go to the mountains have deep pockets; -)

His understanding of this field is phenomenal. If one could major in rock climbing, Honnold would already have his doctoral degree. Of course, school is a waste of time and money, so Honnold wouldn't need to get such a worthless doctorate.

Wondering if Alex will ever try to do another free solo at the level (or higher) of El Cap. Would love to see him do this. But he-s married with a kid now so I-m guessing he-s gonna take down the risk factor-

I probably won't think about climbing again for months until another recommended video to do with it pops up but listening to someone that is passionate about a specific thing? Love it.

9: 00 There is no perfect season for climbing. It all depends on location, orientation, specific route, specific climber. Autumn can be a balance among all combinations, but not the best.

Maaan, I was curious what a climber's diet is like lol. He seems like a very grounded, intelligent guy. I have a deep, DEEP fear of heights, but I've really enjoyed watching his vids.
