I too, reject a society that rejected me. Their loss. I don't have much in common with them anyway. That you prefer to read older books Yes. As do i, too bad they're largely replaced by slop, A. I. generated or not.
As a reject, i never was able to meet people in real life. The internet was amazing in the early days as people saw me as a person. Now All people are disposable to them as there's an infinite supply of these 'status games likes' to get from any number of other people. I see it as a flaw that female humans evolved down a path of tearing each other down in secret (talking behind each others backs) and consider it a feminization of men that they get angry & reject me if they ask about someone who is not present, & i refuse to say anything except Are they here to defend themselves Then why would i ever mention them.
I see it interesting that you also notice people have swapped out independent thought to the state. You have more people to point this out to. I have no-one, but would desire to show people the path of becoming not an NPC.
If you wanted to enrich a society that today, only balances 'value' with numbers, you'd have to quantify personal growth. i would propose that people pass a right of passage, mine at age 16 you build a car from scrap metal, alone. I did this, & many times since. Other cultures could, and did have similar things. I believe the older generation Amish had something similar, making tools and building a house ect.
Ultimately, to use the internet effectively, you must have some use of language. I have a theory that language is a major vector for mental illness. Particularly language that is not well crafted to convey the meaning behind the words, either by intentional misdirection, or eloquence. Would you agree

I'm a Gen Xer, born in the 70's, so maybe I have an outdated view on this. I leave my phone home often, just because it feels liberating to know that no one knows where I'm at. I eschewed social media (I guess not YT though) in 2015, because it became fatiguing for me to read every person's thoughts all of the time. Honestly, I don't care, I don't need to know what Brittany had for dinner or see photos of it.
Leaving behind social media was very likely one of the best decisions I have made. It offered me freedom, and I ended up spending more time outside or actually being productive inside.
The internet is a dead world. A barren wasteland of ridiculousness and propaganda, one way or another. It was fun in the 90's since it was new, but it has grown into the surface of Mars, bloody red and encompassing a thin atmosphere.
Put the phone down, get outside. The (real) World is passing you by and you don't even realize it.
Edit: I fall for it sometimes too. I argue politics online, deeply knowing that I'm simply spinning my wheels going back and forth with narcissistic fundamentalists. I fall into the trap, and I really shouldn't. The time spent doing that, I could be painting a picture (with actual paint, canvas, and a paintbrush, or chopping wood out back, or doing literally anything else that is even marginally productive.

That's mostly a gish gallop driven by ideology unfortunately, sounds smart, most people aren't well-read enough or haven't got the critical thinking skills to catch the amount of nonsense this guy spits in between the factual information. Listen closely to the modern goverment claim at 19: 59 mark. That's ludicrous, not smart. Im not saying everything he says makes little sense, im saying this guy is a hermit that has had more conversations with himself and his books than other people in his life, that drives delusional claims that only streanghten overtime despite the pure book knowledge, he may be wise as in, possesses a lot of knowledge, doesnt know people though. Overobssession over details and ardous but narrow passions screams sligthly on the spectrum for my point of reference, its not a person that can understand whats happening with society reliably or understand what people feel and how they think, he would make a great accountant or historian tho, not a people expert
I think learning a foreign language to complete fluency would help him break out of his mental cage and preconcived image of the world

i was about to write a long explanation for why your having so much trouble finding confirmation for the epiphanies you continue to have. That would be a waste of time. Instead, i want to give you an alternative. Left and right dont really exist as anything more than a device to evenly split humanity in to halves. To create an outlet for humanity to exercise their worst traits. The adversarial force. Ideology is not the pseudo religion, its Science. The technologies derived through science produce its miracles. Science is the tool used to explain away humanities programing to seek God. There trully is a war going on for our souls. The battle thats currently being fought revolves around weather we rely on what man has created to answer our questions and solve our problems, our trust that God has the answer to a problem we already once failed to recognize and are not currently equipped to answer ourselves. Science is a stumbling block, and time is only important if you believe its all weve got. Our flesh is a prison of our own design. A product of our pride.

>For example, in our society the envious hatred of the rich and the rich's decision to screw over the working classes in a litany of ways both stem from the loss of shared ties that would bind the upper and lower classes together in a normal society with as an example the village lord who has responsibility and duties to the peasants or vice versa, those are always less extractive than the total state
What fantasy world is blud living in The reason why the working class hates the rich is because like Whatifautist said, the latter screws over the former and they have fundamentally antithetical CLASS interests that preclude any sort of harmonious coexistence. His example of the village lord and the peasants is particularly nonsensical, there are plenty of recorded instances of peasant revolts like the Jacquerie of 1358 or the Wat Tyler Rebellion of 1381 that debunk the idea of some mythical past conflict-free hierarchical society. Rudyard would have surely stumbled upon these tidbits if he actually read dozens of books per year like he claims, right

I'm a middle millenial, just had a kid a year ago, and am a tradesperson. My father was a carpenter, and having that generational attachment to what I do is deeply fulfilling, and has allowed me to opt out of the job market, as I have my own skills and tools. I am a literal journeyman, and there are many of us. Society hates us, and has done much to subjugate us. To force us under the yoke of something bigger and security when really, they're putting a boot to your throat, making you reliant on the managerial class for a paycheck with little power for negotiation or market driven wages.
Also, I should hate the fact that I'm performing my father's profession, according to what I was taught. I should have gone off to college, separated from my family, made my own way. However, I feel a deep sense of connection to my place in the world, free of antipathy and animosity towards those that can afford my services, because they need me as much as I need them.

Also this is just the reformation rhyming with itself with a modern spin.
Printing press = computer/Internet
Martin Luther = Social media and a. i
Rudy said and or came to a very similar conclusion. I came to this at least 2 yrs ago independently.
I work in mental health aka I work in a Psychiatric hospital, I'm on the floor with 28 patients 50 hrs a week. The number of young people who come through is heart breaking and alarming.
My little theory is pretty simple our brains and spirits have not cought up to the technology at hand.
We are only the 3rd and 4th generation with hot showers on demand let alone little rectangles with a screen able to connect you with anywhere on the globe.
We need to stop diagnosing what's going on and must act.
Our sister's sold us out not a question just import single chicks from other placed. Lol

reply

40: 56 the only person talking about the negative affects of screen addiction
Really I feel like literally everyone talks about screen addiction being bad, though not everyone thinks it's that big of a deal, I guess. Even my cell phone has an app automatically installed that tracks how long I spent on my phone and how long I was using each app that (you can tell from the language around it) is obviously supposed to be some kind of mental health thing. This means the idea that screen addiction is bad is so uncontroversial that even the companies that make money off of it have to at least make it look like they're trying to help people combat it. I guess you just mean that people don't take the problem seriously enough.

Yes, we are in captivity. We are walled off from nature, we have lost iur survival skills such as hunting, foraging, fighting, navigating, building shelter. By law we are not allowed to build our own shelter (unless it meets all the codes and you have the money for the correct supplies. Hunting is restricted. We are trained to go get money, so we can go to the store to get the food that is provided. Like teaching mice to retrieve objects and pull levers to get their food. Completely unnatural. Drop any one of us, born in captivity, into the wild and we will die within a few weeks - starvation, hypothermia, eaten by predator, etc. It sucks. I don't want to be captive but I wouldn't be able to keep myself alive.

Your generation needs to stop being so risk-averse. Stop overthinking it. If you are lonely and go outside and try to meet people. Go to the bar and make a fool of yourself trying to talk to people. Do it over and over again. Have some drinks, make it a game. Be vulnerable. If you want to get better with women, then learn how to be their friend first. Ask them questions that you want to know the answers to. Treat them like human beings with something important to say.
Learn how to get rejected and move on
Life will get better, but you have to be willing to take risks and risk failure. And the answer is definitely not closing yourself off and only thinking about things that people said 200 years ago.

Your opening monologue could have come from me and my partner. For us, living in society feels like nothing short of a prison, and here in Britain it is getting worse.
All we want is to be left alone to get on with our lives. But the state has to be a part of everything, from the government wanting to control access to information, to local councils deciding if you can have a shed in your garden.
What's more concerning is that, be they left or right wing, people actually support greater government control just to impliment their vision.
Personally, I want the state reduced by 80%, delete 80% of laws introduced over the last 30 years, and just for people to be free to live

40: 44 I'm pretty sure that people WERE thinking about the consequences of this technology when they developed it, but they didn't do anything about it, either because the people thinking weren't the people developing and marketing the technology or because the people who developed and marketed the technology cared more about the more obvious immediate economic gains and/or safety it gave them than some theoretical musings about how it might affect society. (Keep in mind that predictions people made about the effects of technology weren't all accurate and they knew they wouldn't all be accurate)

27: 56 Just described the logical outworking of the erasure of the middle class and the benefits of said class when in the majority. Trouble comes from shrinking/elimination of a majority middle class which forces a societal dichotomy of the haves and have-nots.
This is a recipe clearly understood by intellectual marxists/socialists and general collectivist ideologies which is why they force the dichotomy as a political foundational step.
In the USA (and much of the West, these seeds were planted in the 30's, watered in the 60's, and are now coming to full flower today.

The problem is. We are just not built to cope with this.
We have no defences and don't know what to do about it. It's not really reasonable to think people would with something that just popped up almost overnight as far as civilisation is concerned.
And we have infested everything with it so you can't just not have it.
Its like smoking is good for you then finding out it gives people cancer.
How you save a society from this I don't know where to start. Perhaps it is inevitable it collapses destroying the internet with it. So it can start again.

Don’t forget we’re all connected. Not just in the you and your circle or your country, it’s constant subversive from everywhere. Jimmy that was a normie is getting fed into the shredder with propaganda and we wonder why the net suck.
You have to find other things to get the mind rolling, even if it’s something with tech you have to stay off the swamp. Because the ones that’s always get most effected are the ones that don’t understand you can’t lay everything out or does that so they can mass power.

reply

I’m 58 and believe the reason progressives are determined to erase our history is because they don’t want people knowing how amazing life was during the supposedly-dark times. To the angry millennials (and younger) out there, life in the analog 70s and 80s was amazing. We could return to it, but that’s up to you.
I don’t pretend conservatives are doing a much better job. They seem determined to usher in digital feudalism. Dark times ahead. Strong men and women will be needed soon.

reply

You do not view women as humans. This is incredibly upsetting. You imply women do not interact with each other offline, and that they only exist online because they love playing status games. Yet, studies say otherwise: women spend more time with each other IRL, they have more IRL friends, and they partake in more IRL activities. I hope that one day you can try to be more empathetic towards other humans and see that we are all lost in some way, instead of promoting a gender war.

Sorry but relationships were always garbage. The nightmare of my grandparents and parents relationships was just as bad as today. Relationships and marriage is a socal construct to basically continue the species and the governments you live in. we are cogs in a machine. Society is a lie and life is useless. There is no love, no meaning no soul. it's all smoke and mirrors to make us believe life has meaning. there is no meaning, we are a genetic mistake.

As obvious as it may seem to many here. I just realized in the last years that the racial struggle is one giant manufactured psyop. The working class can't realize they're being undercut if they're arguing about inconsequential racial issues. An American people united by a unity against class oppression could be incredibly dangerous to the ruling class. Hence the present culture war acting as Dad's keys. Now can we just stop being the babies I doubt it.
