Dr. J. Mack Slaughter takes to Twitter to answer the internet's burning questions about injuries. What happens if you break a bone and don't set it? How can you tell if you've dislocated your shoulder? Why do shin splints hurt so much? Is it OK to treat a dog bite at home? Is an Achilles tendon tear the worst injury in sports? Dr. Slaughter answers all these questions and much more! Enita: ive had a knee cap dislocation and at ED they could nt see that actually my ACL had a complete tear, and other ligaments were raptured. Its been months since I had the injury only now 6 months later have I had an MRI that has shown the correct diagnosis.
so hoe effective is ED X-ray and USS in diagnosing a significant injury

I got a concussion when I was 10 that was on the worse end of the scale. completely disoriented for hours, unable to recognise family, confrontational/paranoid, speech-impaired. I passed out after a few hours and woke up better. but I told the nurse/doctor in the helicopter -I'm going to throw up-. She said -you'll be fine-. and then I threw up on the floor of the helicopter! -

Well I've had a dislocated shoulder and been able to touch my other shoulder, but I wasn't able to do anything else with it. Though I also have hypermobile joints. My hospital said that with my hyper mobility i could technically pop everything else except my shoulder back inn myself. Though they would prefer if i came to them first.

I-m an orthopaedic medical secretary and it-s a medicine that is needed constantly for fractures/arthritis etc etc and it-s so so violent - Also the first time you see an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Voss, in The Resident, she has hammers and drills and she is just being sprayed with blood and bone - Just says it all!

I just have to say, the tweet message thing on the screen at 8: 45 is not entirely correct, if you are not a professional and you need to use an AED, use it AND call 911, not or, you can be on the phone with them and they will help you while they try to get someone to come to you.

Well I just learned that my light sensitive issues might be because of the concisions I had during I really bad relationship gotta bring this up to my doctor and I have both dislocated joints like shoulder and knee and kidney stones I would say kidney stones win on pain

I saw this dr before reacting to a video of British people learning the horrendous costs of different procedures and treatments in the US (the one with the -shut the fridge- girl) but couldn't remember his name to see if he had any other interesting videos, so thanks for that!

Dr. Slaughter is just literally the perfect name for serial killer/doctor in a horror book. I swears, nobody WOULD suspect Dr. Slaughter being a serial killer just because of that last name and that he's a doctor.
