It's not a case of it. Might be listening in the background. It is listening in the background. I don't know how many times I've been sitting in my house watching TV not talking to it when it says I don't understand or something to that effect. It is always listening

Who cares Android phones eavesdrop on you all the time: even denying microphone-access to all apps will get you targeted ads about what you said to a friend 20 minutes ago. It's a disgrace this is allowed to happen (in the EU) it makes pretty much all privacy laws useless.

I support people’s right to privacy regardless if they use this device, but can someone please explain why people even use it Unless you have some sort of disability that hinders your ability to do these tasks, it just seems so ridiculous

One word. Smart-Phone. Already hears everything you say all the time and follows you everywhere it goes. Who knows what the device collects and send back to its manufacturer and you are worried about Alexa Hahahahaha
