I would be lying if I said that there were not distracting pronunciation errors. (ben-volence = comical. Also, the book itself I had some high hopes for, and now realize it is half insecurities edging or defending itself against western concepts and ideas, and half superior-isms which have proven untrue in the mass atrocities committed in WWII, or have proven untrue today in the flaccid ability to follow oaths (to no longer have an offensive military, etc. Finally, the author’s understanding of Christianity is about as deep as my understanding of nihon, not very. This was in a word, garbage. A weak history, a weaker presentation of something that was probably once amazing and beautiful.

I, just recently, started to embrace the values that I have always wanted and tried to practice. After decades of thinking I was wrong, I spent other decades. Long story short, I feel like I have achieved almost everything I ever wanted like. Shit . Your perfect and the entire universe is perfect and don't you for. Wait! remember that. Now even lm confused.

Why is a woman speaking for a book for War. I cant listen to this. Draining and uninspiring, she has a nice voice but War is the realm of men. A man who knows of combat should only be used to voice this book. To inspire other men and to give meaning feeling to each sentence.
90% of women are not suitable to audiobook this unless thats their target audience.

3: 33: 41 African savage's. There it is! One thing I have noticed as an African, we always talk about America and racism. Those people haven't had the oriental experience which is much MUCH worse! I love Japan, but il be damed if they ain't racist as Fu%. I mean 1960 or 80's kinda racist!

To be clear, this was written after Japan had entered the Meiji era. It's akin to someone in the Napoleonic Wars writing nostalgically about Western European chivalry during the Medieval dark ages.

Fun fact: Inazo Nitobe dedicated his book Bushido - The Soul of Japan to the Polish nation, he called them Samurai nation of the West!
