I consider myself to be a secular Buddhist. I am a rational thinker, and cannot disagree with anything said here. I’m only beginning to look into Buddhism. Does anyone have any tips to get started I would appreciate any kind advice from anyone who has something to offer. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful journey.

Life is a timeline on that timeline we can change the wicked can no longer stay wicked. The undisciplined can become disciplined and even the unrighteous can become righteous. In my lifetime I can never hope to understand the entirety of his word bit if I can take one drop of understanding maybe just maybe I will have fulfillment

Those who hear the words and make sense of them are blessed. Those who hear these words, ans think 'damn, the Buddha must have been bored, he talked a lot', are also blessed, for we all are blessed and cursed. Who would separate themselves from the whole Or better yet, how

Sorry I don't agree with the part that says not to love women what about the holy divine
Mother love conquers all so run and tell that. what he means to say is lust for women but lust can turn into pure love when God is in the conjugal lover

Today I feel lonely, but I know I can take this feeling. In my mind I have to take action to change this, but my mind is lying. I know I can take it. I can accept the suffering being part of life.
So I'll accept it just the way it is.

Note that DHAMMMAPADA is not his whole teaching. Just by listening or reading dhramapada you haven’t learn all. Dharmapada is just like a 1 page of the book.

Do you also read The Lotus Sutra (which is I guess Nichiren Buddhism's version of this, which they recite (in Sanskrit) at their gatherings)
