Ha! What great timing seeing this video. I got some criticism on some of my artwork at my job and it shut me down today. I didn't feel like drawing anything. I'm still processing the feedback. It shut me down because it was contradictory to what style they were doing and I was following what style they currently have. I am going to have a one on one talk tomorrow to get some clarification because I am very confused. Great videos as always. Love the stories.

I once uploaded some pics on hentai foundry. They are some pretentious pricks in the critique section. Yes my art was not perfect but they could not put their hand on my mistakes. It was like a carpenter explaining me how the universe works. The guys who critique the art there, aren't helpful at all from my experience. Training my basics helped me a ton. Accepting help only works if the helper is better than you.

I don't see a problem with either style. They're just two different styles. Unless I'm missing something and the crits were coming from people who were used to a different style for the series. (Was never a transformers fan so don't know. Both still better than half or more of the stuff out there today.

Question, will always love your work, but I noticed on your samples that the characters are brighter and whiter then the background. Did you use white out? Apply a separate level with a separate piece of paper and glue?

James your straight forward addmission of your faults and taking responsibility for mistakes helps immensly as I have considered taking shortcuts for my comic and am glad I didn't.
