Meal Swap: Polish Vs. Taiwanese Dumplings

Are these soup dumplings if there's no soup? IYang: I feel like you shouldn't really say Taiwanese dumplings, because there's actually no dumplings in traditional Taiwanese food. Dumplings don't represent Taiwan very well, and i would say that it represents China more. It was during the Kuomintang's retreat to Taiwan after the Chinese Civil War in 1949, and the arrival of waishengren from China when dumplings were mainstream in Taiwan. More traditional Taiwanese food would be braised pork over rice, oyster pancake, congee, etc.

I'm Polish, but I think Chinese dumplings are better or at the same level as Polish dumplings. they are very different but they both taste the most delicious in the world: )

There is a version of pierogi served in a soup (red borsch. They are called uszka (ushka. They're smaller and their corners are formed into a ring shape. A true Pole would know that; )

I live in Parma, Ohio, so pierogies are always everyone's favorite!
Don't me for using the wrong plural, it's in our vernacular.
