Note to the filmmakers- can you change the opening to 1985 or something Apparently many in the audience can’t get past the computer and phone. Which is strange as it’s a simulation but the moment they realize oh that computer didn’t exist in 1974 they feel very clever and the fact they caught a mistake is all they can think of. I know, it’s fiction and a simulation so such details don’t need to tie in to our reality etc. but there are so few decent films and this one was pretty fun and it’s so unfortunate that a portion of viewers just can’t get past that. I’d change it personally and re-release.

Now for the fun question: If this is all a simulation, and we have no way of determining whether it is in first place, would that be any bad What does it matter if we don't really exist, nor have free will. as long as we can't even tell the difference and thus cannot even conclusively prove that we don't have free will That's basically the same as having free will, until the point where the opposite is proven true (which, as depicted here, might just be the end of everything. so not a very long period of time we can perceive.

Very good. However, it should be noted that our current simulation is scheduled to run for another 10 thousand trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion years, give or take a couple thousand trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion or so. Very likely not with the human race in it for even a tiny fraction of all that time, however. And this particular run may be only one of trillions of trillions of similar simulation runs over the endless eons of eternity.

There is no such thing as a race! In science we call it an alien species. The word race has no basis in science at all.
Genetically speaking, race doesn't exist in humans. Race is a real cultural, political and economic concept in society, but it is not a biological concept, and that unfortunately is what many people wrongfully consider to be the epitome or essence of race in humans---genetic differences There's nothing genetically different about any of us. We are a species with different ethnicities.

Some serious technical historical problems: the year is 1974. There are no Macs, and that Apple computer didn’t exist either. I realize that to the people who made this movie all of history is ancient and compressed in their mind but it would be good to get details like that right. Also she’s faking touch typing, get it right. The concept of movies very interesting implementation was awful. Reboot.

Just one little problem: 1974 got skipped here. Intro says it's 31st Dec 1974, but at 0: 25 seconds the radio voiceover says We are three minutes away from 1974 (although not very clearly, but the closed captions confirm that). then, at 3: 52 the voiceover announces it's now 1975 (again, you have to read the closed captions.

hydrogen fuel cell combined with sterling engine and hydrolysis of water and hydrogen to hydrogen fuel cell so we got more power which is clean and green
use your budget in my ideas so you got more power and clean environment

All the video's anomalies (computer, phone, etc) are a glitch in our program. For god sake, don't point them out - if they decide they're too severe they will reboot us, and we will have to relive 2020 all over again - don't nobody need to go through this shit again.

Hey if we really are in a simulation then it means that the one or those aliens/humans have invented AI. It means that AI is possible.
If we freaking create an AI it will be an AI inside an AI and that AI inside and AI. Omg are we even real.

A tangent to Pascal's wager of whether or not God exists. If we are or are not a 'simulation' is parallel to the concept of whether we are or are not ideas in God's mind. Whether or not we have free will or all is determined.
A clever posit.

guess you ve all heard about the latest quantic experiment.
when time and space are denied, is our reality (relativity) real
do we live in a holographic simulation
Magic is the reality: )

The text intro says it's Dec 31st 1974, but the radio announcer says they're a few seconds away from 1974, suggesting it's Dec 31st 1973. Yeah, and that Apple IIe.

No way I am part of a computer simulation. I go through too much weird shit for it to be a programmed by anyone, but not weird enough to be tied to a random algorithm.

. 6 Month after the last comment. Human race reached a new century. We are now in a global pandemic. But still the same question! Is that all just a simulation

Interesting that in their simulation hardware was advanced as ours in 1984. one could wonder if that was some form of Simulator's joke at us watching.

Maybe for them is just a simulation, but for us is our reality.
Edit: That means that the sims perceive everything we so to them as real

Those pointing out that there were no computers in the 70s - it’s a simulation. Therefore it doesn’t have to tie in to any particular year

That Apple was not out in 1974. It's an anachronism. This could've been set in 1984, which would've made more sense.

Funny. In the simulation in which I'm living, Apple didn't introduce the Mac until a decade later.
