You can redo your life, but you have to die first - Sci-Fi Short Film: CTRL Z
video description
The premise immediately sets up a compelling exploration of sacrifice, determination, and the lengths to which one would go for love. Kennedys direction ensures that the story unfolds with a blend of romance, humor, and suspense, keeping viewers engaged throughout.
The cast, led by Ed Easton as the lovelorn protagonist, delivers strong performances that breathe life into their characters. Kath Hughes as Carrie, the object of Eds affection, brings depth and warmth to her role, while the supporting cast adds richness to the films world.
Visually, CTRL Z is well-crafted, with James Oldhams cinematography capturing both the intimate moments between characters and the fantastical elements of the story. The device itself, designed and built by Toby Burkill, serves as a central motif, symbolizing both the power of love and the consequences of tampering with fate.
While the films premise is intriguing, it also raises thought-provoking questions about the nature of love, agency, and the concept of destiny. Kennedys script deftly navigates these themes, inviting viewers to ponder the ethical dilemmas posed by the protagonists actions.
Overall, CTRL Z is a charming and thought-provoking sci-fi romance that offers a fresh take on familiar tropes. With its engaging storyline, strong performances, and imaginative premise, its sure to resonate with audiences looking for a heartfelt and entertaining cinematic experience.
Congratulations to the entire ensemble of CTRL Z for their exceptional performances and contributions to this heartfelt and captivating sci-fi romance.
Together, you brought depth, authenticity, and emotion to each character, making their journey one that resonates deeply with audiences.
Your collective talent and dedication have truly brought the story to life, leaving a lasting impression on viewers.
Cheers to each member of the ensemble for their outstanding work in making CTRL Z a memorable and impactful cinematic experience.

to be fair, he didn't try all that hard. he will eventually break the loop once he perfects jiu jitsu, by that time he will emerge a master of reflexes and combat having spent countless years attempting to out maneuver a bus until finally succeeding. He will come out of this mentally stronger and faster than any living human being and likely will use this ability, mixed with the ability to create save points to save others.

13: 04 I am completely astounded at how this woman does not get excited and frankly, completely astonished and intrigued, mind blown with looking at a time Machine and she wants to destroy it. That’s such a movie thing to do. That’s not what anyone would actually do. Humans are different. humans are not like that humans are the worst

From a technical standpoint, a guy smart enough to make such a device knows about failsafe mechanism. even an ordinary OS rolls back to a previous point after an unsuccessful update, you know what I mean That's like the basics of engineering any smart device or software

The same happened to me in the one of the videogames emulators where I accidentally saved the state instead of loading, so now my save state was just before dying and as I always depended on save states I never really saved in game memory, so I have to redo all the game,

Yeah, he should have implemented a safety mechanism. Like several save points or if he dies to short after the save point he gets the second latest save point.
And by the way, you don't destroy a box which contains Plutonium by just throwing it on the street.

I remember an episode of the twighlight zone where the governement invents some weapon that plays with time and whatnot. Anyway at the end the general is stuck in the loop where he is essentially blown up for eternity similar to this

If this thing happened in real life just saying can we realise that means we can see time is moving forward the next the day how we came to a realisation that time is rewinding after every second can anyone can become aware of that fact.

Him getting stuck in a death loop is still inevitable even if he doesn't get hit by the bus, since he is basically immortal with this device, irrefutably - as he has already made a save point. He has cursed himself with eternal life.

Imagine if the the time reset only affects a certain area around the box say 20 meters, so every time he resets the rest of the world gones but that small space doesent. If he was there for 3 years.

I’d you pause and look closer, the machine did break, just not fast enough, and he technically died before the machine could lose its time manipulation abilities. He’s stuck in the time loop forever.

He is not in infinity death loop. Because after trying to save himself he will realise that he can't save himself. Next time he won't press the button and die for permanent.

I saw that ending coming the second I heard what the device does. In reality people wouldn't build such devices with only one save point. You need to have a fail-safe

The only good news about the ending is that eventually the cube will run out of power. Eventually he will be able to die in peace
