From the first DOOM game in 1993 all the way to Doom Eternal! I saw Doom for the first time in a room with the Xbox on saying Doom 3 and I was so horrified of that game and how the things worked in it.
I never really played it as much after seeing my mom and sibling play it just felt weird like oh yeah they're playing a game from hell as I look at it now it was just one of those games everyone hated a lot and it was one of the first -Doom games- I had witnessed and kind of played but never to it's full extent.
I'm glad to have played 2016 and Eternal though.

6: 20 at the time he said that, that the story isn't too important, he was right. these days things are very different, back then it was about the game and its innovations, how it played and its uniqueness. these says story/lore and all that rubbish needs to be there because there are no great innovations left to be brought, in the way that doom did. cos it's all been done.

To be honest I don't care that Microsoft has the rights. I've seen everything -Doom- has to offer over the years.
They'll find a way to screw it up soon.
But we'll still have all the originals. But. The possible release of -Brutal DOOM-? Now that's worth hoping for.

Fun fact, the DoS version of Ultimate DOOM is available on Steam with its updated port. However, the controls are southpaw and uses the arrow keys, no mouse control, so it's a tanky ass experience. I dont know how to change it within the native game itself.

I played the original Doom a couple of years ago and it still maintains its charm. Regarding Doom 3, I remember when I saw the demo in the late 2002 I thought -it's starting another era-. It was incredible.

Just finished the campaign with everything today,
I love the cheats, I am now extremely broken.
Only complaint is the Deluxe exclusive costume, and the timed tier, that is pressuring

reply

i realized there doom music im the background
edit: i laughed so hard when he talked about a school shooting then said that doom was a success with 3million copies sold

No way is Doom Eternal better than Doom 2016. 2016 has that certain something that keeps you playing. Eternal has too much jumping and grabbing less shooting. Not as fun.
reply

I mean he had a point with the story aspect of it. The most played game on steam has no story. In fact a large portion of the most popular games lack any story.
reply

Fun Fact: Doom Eternal also makes a direct connection with the very first game, establishing that 'Doom Guy' and 'The Doom Slayer' are the same character.

I played it on the snes back in the 90s, 1st game I played while jamming out to music while I played. Music and doom have always went well together.

Its really funny how even -realistic graphic- cant give you the numbers of sell copies compared to DOOM 1. Its proof that graphic is not everything.

Just started Doom 2016 and so far it sucks, shotgun is weak as all hell, i hate doing glory kills, i want to run and gun like the first 2 games
reply

im surprised that nintendo put doom on their consoles, nintendo was supposed to be family friendly but nintendo wants more badass players i guess
reply

Imagine what shooting a double barrel shotgun that fires both shells at once would be like. Tbh that-s the special thing about the super shotgun

quite funny, calling video game a violence encouragement.
yet Hollywood with all it's war and fake shit isn't a violence encouraging?

12: 10 (regarding the soundtrack)
Reminds me of what helped amp up the experience of Prince of Persia: Warrior Within.

reply

If you care about a game's soundtrack you are more vapid than people who buy movie soundtracks. Get real taste in music.
reply

It's ironic that the supposedly -best FPS ever- (Doom Eternal) sold LESS copies than a -good game that's not Doom- (Doom 3.

In 64, you have a reaspn to turn off the music.
In a -FUN- level, you need to hear fpr footsteps of a CYBERDEMON.

reply

two yrs later the full game was sold? doom 2 was short after doom1. there is something wrong with your dates.
reply

The reason why doom 2016 took 13 years to code is because they had to make the music as fricking good as possible
reply

the only thing i dont like about flatlife is they kinda clickbait the title, like no doom game has released this year
reply

Doom 64 on a Sony and Microsoft Console?
Just like GoldenEye 64 was going to be a Remake for the Xbox 360.

reply

Also you forgot about the movies the one in the early 2000s with the rock and the newer doom annihilation
