Xbox skipping discs..... that's fine. I'm never buying an xbox again anyway. Bought my first ever Xbox in 2016. Always wanted to play the Halo and Gears games... and now I could, all of them. Got a 1S... then AFTER xmas (fishy timing) they cancel Scalebound. And there hasnt' been shit on that console since that interests me. First time I've ever bought a dust cover for a console.Haven't touched it since beating the Halo and Gears games. Hell I put Dark Souls 3 on there just to have something else on it, but havent' gotten around to it yet, backlogs suck.... so many games on my PS4.... lmao
And no I will not buy a console that has no disc drive. I don't buy digital, I like to own my games.

Jake, I live in a rural area and depending on where you live, a 10gb update file can take 2-3 days. This is because internet is so poor and so slow. Some people I know who have purchased FFXV still haven't downloaded any updates, and still haven't even enjoyed the initial Crown Update which was a download on day 1. Also, there are quite a few people I know that don't have home internet in this area, or even own a computer. I'd say over 70% of people locally only sparingly have internet on some smart phones (and not all have smart phones) and that's it. Consoles without a physical media drive is not a good thing in these parts. The companies would lose sales.

I buy both digital and physical. I take into account how much replay ability the game will have. If it-s something I know I will want to go back and play down the road, it-s nice to have the digital. I buy physical if I-m going to finish the game and just want to get rid of it. So no disc drive in a console doesn-t really interest me. Should be cheaper though right? I also have a PC without a disc drive for those digital games I want so not so bad. It gives people an option I suppose.

I would hate if they remove the disk drive because where I live in libya in the Middle East we have some bad internet
and when you get good internet about 24 Mbs
you would have to pay a large number for the giga bits you spend
and these games are not small size stating at 40Gb and on
Witch means a single game cost 40$ USD for internet without the price to purchase the game

I will occasionally do digital downloads but for some games I still like having physical copies and will even buy collectors or steelbook editions of certain games. I wouldn't want a console with no disc drive as my console does double duty as a dvd player as well. If they get rid of the disc drive then I have to go buy a dvd player and that just costs me more money for no real reason.

Nope. Have you ever watched something streaming, and then it just stops for some reason? I'm not against digital stuff, and yes a disc can get scratched, but I wanna actually HAVE the game. Plus being able to play other discs like blue rays and dvds is also important. It doesn't need to be a spinning mechanism anymore; the Switch cartridges are honestly a little too small, lol.

I both download digital games and buy disks, but I would be pretty upset if physical game disks stopped being made. For one thing, I couldn-t buy used games for a cheaper price. I also would have a lot of difficulty with returning or selling games that I either never played or decided I didn-t want anymore. Plus, it-s a little nicer to own a physical copy of a game.

Im always going to be physical, because in most cases, you dont actually own the games you buy online. I still use steam but I mainly collect physical copies too.
Also, with physical copies, if you end up not liking the game, you can sell it to someone who will. If it's digital, youre stuck with a $60 game you dont even like, and that money is gone.

A trade in of physical copies would take place so that the companies can end the selling of used games. I do not like throwing my money away personally. I get my games on Ebay every now and then for next to nothing prices. Even a so called game sale of a digital copy will not compare to the cheaper price of a used physical copy.

I like digital games for the convenience of not having to put in a disk or go to the store. I try and buy all my games on disk so I still have something that can be turned into cash down the road. Also don-t like the idea that a game that is downloaded can be taking off the digital store and your purchase is lost.
