Oh man, who could possibly forget Halo 3's Tank beats everything gameplay moment? You stride into an area with a few AA Wraiths, take them out, and then the Forward Unto Dawn flies down which causes debris, vehicles or any other movable object (including you) to get pushed away from it's landing zone. It then drops 3 tanks that you use to backtrack the mission, and as you're fighting through the area you just came from a marine is commenting on all the things you're killing with the tank you just got.
tank beats ghosts then tank beats hunters and finally, tank beats everything.
God I love Halo 3.

imho that sequence of multiple layers of bombers stacked up half a dozen + over each other was immersion ruining because it was not plausible.
that's not how bomber formations fly because it would almost certainly lead to higher elevation formations dropping bombs on those below them.
you dont even need to have military insight from movies or what ever because its just so common sense in plain view.

Ryse Son of Rome, is actually 1 of the most important games in history. It was the first time that realworld scenes got scanned in. Now Quixell does that for a living and it's the base for every UE5 game being released. In terms of tech demo, it takes the cake, only beaten out by Quake with the voodoo 3dFX card. No game that looks hyper realistic, would be here, if it wasnt for Ryse.

Can we also add when Dom Santiago sacrificed himself to save his friends in Gears of War 3. If you took the time to invest in the story, then you know that scene hit the feels so hard. Everything he had gone through, and the loss of his wife Maria, (having to put her down. I had tears running down my face. I had to put the game down and process what just happened.

I know it's not spectacle, it's not AAA, but the moment that stands out most to me in all video games is - not to spoil anything - the cathartic character growth moment late in Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. The way it's conceptually integrated with the interactivity of gaming controls is an emotional release that could not be done in any other medium. Pure art.

I'm going way, way back with freeing the first section of Paris from the Nazis and the environment turning from black & white to full color; climbing the radio towers in Dying Light with my hands very sweaty due to my fear of heights; the breathtaking opening sequence from The Ghost of Tsushima; the remake of Mafia; and and all of Horizon Zero Dawn.

I gotta mention Crysis. I remember messing with the map editor and placing cars and all kinds of objects around multiple tornados to see how the physics would react. All of the little objects got whipped into the tornado while cars got flung into the air and I had to run to dodge them when they came crashing down. I was blown away by that in 2007.

Not much of an insane moment but in Red Dead Redemption, when you've completed a mission to the west and you're riding back to the McFarlane Ranch. You go through Armadillo and hit the slope just as the sun is setting. For me, no other game has managed to create that feeling of going home after a long day as well as that moment did.

PoP warrior within. When the prince travel past in time in his dark suit and seeing himself. Mind blown when i first played this game! The story and the adrenaline while being chased by dahaka, the actions and puzzles all in one and a couple of endings that would trigger part 3 story or end it in part 2. The best PoP i ever played!

That Hell let lose one is pretty good they even added a Shockwave effect to it too. But I think my favorite on this list is the Baulder fight because you get to see that Kratos has changed he holds back until his family is threatened and you get to feel the impact of each blow and you just know this is a God fight.

I think the Witcher 3 has a ton of memorable, epic moments. One example would be the main boss fight in the Blood and Wine Expansion just simply arriving onto Skellige isles, exploring the Nordic inspired landscape, soaking in the views. Absolutely unforgettable moments right there.

Jeesh, action action action, the whole way through? How about story twists like Bioshock's Would you kindly? How about getting blown away by a sense of wonder, like discovering Blackreach in Skyrim? Graphical wonders, like playing Doom for the first time back when it came out?

This entire video can just be a list of BF4 multiplayer maps. It's 1 thing doing a skyscraper self-destructing, it's a WHOLE different beast trying to do that on a multiplayer game, where it's synced up for everyone. Let alone do that, without everyone lagging.

The reveal of Atreus' greater significance to Norse lore was something I sort of saw coming but was in denial about throughout because there was just no way. Until it absolutely was way.
