What an age it was! We had MK deadly alliance in 2002, Deception in 2004, Shaolin Monks in 2005 and Armageddon in 2006! These days you can wait 7 years for a sequel, although MK do release them around the 3 year mark

Man back then MK had the best cinematic intros of all fighting games. The 3D era was my favorite because the developers put a lot of effort in the story. So risky, shocking, and amazing. Miss that era.

If you think about it Deadly Alliance and Armageddon were the only games where the villains actually won. I would count MK11 and 1 but there-s always new evil, kinda an endless battle.

I absolutely hate how nerfed quan chi and shang tsung became. They are literally punching bags now for all the characters in the MK1. So disappointing, they never even felt threatening.
