People are saying the ending is sad, but it doesn't have to be.
They removed the protagonists mind and hooked it up, and they deliberately show you that it is moved to the new body and that the old body feels nothing. The parasite was just getting what it had been denied now that the body was worthless.
The player fixes the machine and breaks some of the hold of the infection and unites with the mind that is what remains of the civilization and having done so it abandons it's meat, contemptuous of its weakness. Pet food.

Everyone whines that the game lasts about 3 hours, but I'm quite satisfied.
Just buy the game yourself, install and study in as much detail as you have enough meticulousness.
For the whole passage, I always regretted that the player did not stop longer at some segments, did not look at the details with much more enthusiasm, did not delve deeper into the views, but even so the final effect of watching the game is pleasant, the quality should be equal to the time invested in it, not duration)

The game its so depressing but the art and the meaning of the whole game is amazing. Not every game has good end that was shocking and an amazing idea. Definitely go buy it but im warning its one shot game you can't continue playing it because is only that you have through this video. nothing it will changed so think wisely if wanna spend 60-70 bucks for this game. Thank you MkIceandFire for giving us the chance to see and enjoy the game before we buy it much appreciated it.

I don't understand the ending. Did the creature eat the dude and leave a big pile of poop and guts stuck to the floor? Was this some weird advanced race that was killed off by body snatching parasitic creatures? Was the dude's mind uploaded into another body while he was getting hacked on by some medical machine? I hope he has some medical insurance cause his medical bill is going to be outrageous.

It's a nighmare version of the paradise. The cruxifiction, the resurrection, the gates to a nightmarish heaven with the face of a nightmarish version of God and the parasite/serpent inside that heaven creating, with the man and woman (you in the final part with 2 bodies, one with a womb) the tree of good and evil. This game is a true nightmare that goes beyond logic itself.

I was thinking the ending would've been so trippy / introspective / mind-bending, if after you were wired to the brain-tree, you awoke in the consciousness of the first guy in the beginning, or as one of the egg-people-things on the first puzzle. Like a forever cycle of life and consciousness, where everyone is you and you are everyone.

So my best guess is the character is trying to get to some type of heaven or trying to enact some type of contingency plan to save his race which he fails because the dumbasses don-t have such thing as trauma kits to fix guts hanging out of their stomach and he left an extremely hostile parasite alive to hunt and kill him

20: 04 At the 2nd stage of boss fight, you don't need to run away. Try to stay at a closer range with the boss and he will swing his left arm. Only during that time would his chest open up and be vulnerable. Simply run backwards a little bit to dodge his left arm attack and shoot his chest and he will soon be defeated.

Why are AAA devs not making games like this? And coming from a small team. So sad that the mainstream industry is not interested in pushing boundaries in creativity. It's all stale now. Even for a 3 hour game, it's admirable what this small independent team was able to achieve with Scorn. Congratulations.

I have waited most time for play at this art game!
All is created perfectly, intro, music, scenary, time, all have one sense that is not simple to understand but for me is amazing how i have feel the pain, malincony, isolation and sad.

For those unhappy about the player character dying in the end. The entire world it is set in is hopeless. It is gross, depressing and gray. I was unhappy at first but realized it fit very well within the games world of there being no hope.
