Martin is so good; he should do a podcast where he does stream-of-consicousness stuff without scripts. Just anecdotes from his life, character sketches, little classic movie parody bits, memories of his youth. anything. I would listen to that all day. I don't think he ever did any standup comedy albums, although I could be mistaken. He is always a genuine pleasure, particularly in late night venues like this-- with Kimmel, Letterman, or Conan. Plus, I always get a vibe that he's probably a really decent guy.

God those award shows are such a nightmare hellscape of egotistical high-school drop-outs. If the Nobel Prize got as much media attention as all the crappy actor awards, things in this world might make sense.

He is 70 now, I am sure he does not have to work but I wonder what he is up too. hope he is working on writing comedy movie scripts with Steve Martin or Larry David. He is so brilliant at comedy.

Martin is an old school comedian; one quick quip right after another, roasting the host, the audience and himself and all you can do is just try to hang on.
