I liked this. Solid chops from the entire cast, I really liked the blocking in this; good script kept pace with the well paced editing to let actors do well delivering the gravity of the situation within their scenes, which is nice, because at around twenty minutes long I never thought this film unnecessarily labored any backstory or systemic urgency propelling it all, it's simple enough: no one gets to read except like the last quadrillionaire standing, and Prome always did right by his daughter by empowering her to choose courage for herself, so she could in turn pass that torch. How can the audience not root for Prome safeguarding her pyrrhic victory And I approve of the tactical choice to gather the remaining books himself and burn them, and his explanation is totally valid under the circumstances. Sometimes there's books that folks find they'll go Prome for, as if they already haven't. but I think the resolution of the film is good, it's a wholesome landing.
The entry and exit of the antigravity cars to and from the action in the film is totally inobtrusive in terms of taking me out of the actual filmed cast and sets and locations, and fits well with the world and looks cool too; good job all around to the Art Department and to Costumes. I thought the light and color was good too, scenes and character locations were distinct and I thought the overall color temperature of the entire film was really good, I mean that it was mostly warm and earthy, it was the danger from the bad book boss when things would get steelier, blue.
Good job y'all! Applause from Staunton Virginia!

Hmmm, excellent production values. but, that said, the theme: banning books, independent thought, and writing, is too exaggerated with too many illogical holes (no cars, houses, people in this future society) and the greatest lie. a vague concept not clear to the viewer: that the lie is propaganda against truth against free thinking reading writing a free society. Sometimes, rather than shoot for the moon, a film about, say, free-thinking/reading/writing is best brought down to a more realistic movie plot. Why not show banning of children's books against transgender, gays, or books against a fictional autocratic President, or how families in the future will turn over their thinking, reasoning, reading, writing needs to A. I, becoming so dependent on AI that in a crisis people don't know how to cope.
I applaud that this movie got made, and folks making it persevered across so many challenges to get it done. I love filmmaking. Someday a movie I make, if I'm half as committed as these folks, may show up on You Tube, and be subject to the myriad of criticisms from viewers, just like me: .

destroy the concept of the free exchange of ideas between societies & you essentially destroy the concept of the free exchange of ideas between individuals. it’s an eraser of cultural diversity & a general acceptance of monoculture that is diametrically opposed to diversity & the laws that govern adaptation & the continued existence of any given spicesDarwin wasn’t completely wrong but he also wasn’t completely right at the same moment in his time of realization. everything is up for revision. especially the truth

Far too many people do not seem to care about actually reading and understanding what they have read these days. Reading was my escape from a harsh reality in my younger years. There are very few authors that can actually trigger my mental movie projector as I read their works. I visualize the scenes as I read the books, and it becomes acutely real has gives an understanding. Excellent movie here! /standing ovation

Our present government condones the removal of history books, or publications, from libraries (and schools) that contain historical accuracy about certain events in our past; it wants to erase the history of certain ethnic groups and rewrite history more favorably to the current cult of personality subgroups, and to be more conducive to the promotion of commentary favorable to supremacist doctrines and theories.

The greatest lie is how its portrait telling lil kid, its naptime & the kid just quietly obeys. this is the most unrealistic part. otherwise, very good n deep short. imagine the dystopian world where reading is illegal nevermind the writing. to be fair there was never a time where everyone could read. many do nowadays, but still less then 80%. the dystopian future, sadly is more likely tbh

The majority of American slave states, beginning in the mid 1700s, passed laws prohibiting enslaved people from learning to read or write, fearing literacy would lead to resistance, rebellion, and a loss of control. And today, Chump's relentless attacks on the Department of Education is a nation-wide continuation to keep people uneducated and compliant.

History repeats itself. When I saw the burning of the books, I had to think back to nazi Germany. Despite a flying car, these people living in that time are very poor without books. I can't even imagine a world without books, or not able to read. That is not future, but going back in time.
Extremely good short scifi story.

This is why I can't get rid of any hardcopy. The best way to retain the reality of the world written through the eyes of those who. lived it while writing about it, is to keep the copy.
Everything can be rewritten, but what came before can always challenge it.

You just know humanity is messed up if they are busy dreaming up stuff this dystopian.
Honestly though, humanity would never make it without the written word, so pretty unrealistic.
Well filmed, poor story. Fast becoming the standard these days it seems.

would make a great full length movie and I'm certainly glad to hear that KITT is still up and running too and has found a new gig (just wished he had more speaking rolls tho and that he was actually a part of that Delorean.

Great short film! I only have two critiques - #1 The fight choreography needs some help, #2 You mastered the Hollywood stigma of everyone shooting guns with no one ever getting hit, even at close range.

this would have been way better as a short story to read imo. just so much wrong with it. if cars dont touch the ground, why would there be tracks also, books dont burn well, especially if closed

Hundreds of years ago, humans and animals used to be able to talk to each other. It was not until humans started eating meat that the animals rebelled and refused to talk to man to this very day.

If this doesn't win multiple Oscars, Grammy awards, and a Pulitzer prize, then I don't know what will. Heck I'm even feeling generous, that I might even throw in the Nobel peace prize

This is the America many predicted. It’s what happens when your government is run by corporations who want their citizens afraid, uneducated and popping out future labourers like candy.
