Austin Butler on Intense Elvis Preparation, Singing in the Movie & Working with Tarantino

Austin talks about the incredible preparation that went into Elvis, production shutting down after Tom Hanks got COVID, working with a dialect coach and a movement and singing coach, learning karate, being terrified of the role, practicing Elvis laugh while walking down the beach, his favorite Elvis song, singing all the early Elvis songs in the movie, working with Quentin Tarantino, and going to the Golden Globes. Miss: My ideal scenario for Austin for this Award season is winning the golden globes and maybe at SAG/ BFTA. And a nomination for the Oscars. I wanna be pratical. Austin is still young and winning the Oscars at this point will put huge pressure on him and will limit the type of roles he wants to play for himself. And the Oscar panel rarely like really rarely give the Best Actor Award to someone who's under 40.
And it doesn't help that he looks alot younger than he is.

For the sake of my mother, who was such a massive fan of Elvis that my childhood home was basically decorated like Graceland (seriously Graceland was trippy. She had a crush on Jimmy Kimmel - R. I. P. mom but I totally caught her off guard asking her this. Austin, brother, you hit all the beats of what made Elvis special to my mother. Thanks to Baz and crew but I came into your movie unsure and left sure. Wanda would approve - in absentia.

Well it's between Austin Butler or Brendan Fraser for the Best Actor! I loved Austin's portrayal of Elvis but Brendan Fraser was just absolutely breathtaking in The Whale! I don't know man. if I had to choose I probably would go with Brendan Fraser.

My god father Billy ward and his dominos were Elvis Presley s mentor and teacher before he became crazy famous! My granddaddy was a black man who loved all people. He coined the phase rock n roll during a radio broadcast interview! I love history

Austin deserves every award out there, Elvis was the best movie out there! The more I learn about the making of this movie, the more I fall in love with it. The costumes, the sets and of course THE PERFORMANCE!

The kid seems awesome I need to see the movie. Having said that, Frank Sinatra came way before Elvis and Frank was a HUGE star just as big just some decades earlier. Let us never forget the Bobby Socksers.

I love how hosts go from: Ohhh, did Elvis REALLY know how to do karate?
to 10 seconds later: I love how he incorporated it into stage work, how he'd suddenly throw a kick and you're like, that's SO Elvis! xD

As a movie consumer one does not give enough credit for the preparation that goes in portraying a character on screen. More so for character that everyone knows. Well done. I enjoyed watching the movie.

I hope this young man remains down to earth. I hadn't heard of him until I saw him on SNL and thought he was cute there. I guess I'll watch the movie Elvis sometime soon.

Been a fan of Austin since he played Tex Watson. I'm happy he's getting the recognition he deserves he's always been a great actor in everything I've seen him in

I can't believe he was an underrated actor before, playing mainly love interests. He is so talented, I want to see him playing more roles where he can shine.

Bruce Lee was soooo huge that tons of people, even my Dad got into Marshall arts. I still own a 1973 or so patch of Bruce Lee. It's worth about 50 now!

Who is this man? As soon as he started talking, I started ovulating. And I'm a straight man. At least I thought so until now.
