My mother took my 15-yr-old niece to The Jerk, and my brother and sister-in-law chastised grandma for taking her granddaughter to an R-rated movie! My mother responded Well she got more of the jokes than I did! Of course now it would be considered PG! My mother also was told she looked like Bernadette Peters quite a bit. She was flattered but was resigned because of their shared underbite.

I got to see her on Broadway with Martin Short in The Goodbye Girl. The show wasn't a huge hit but they were great together. I met her briefly after. I'm rarely starstruck but with her I could barely speak.
