Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior, Blood: The trinity of major 3DR Build games. Released by Monolith, Blood is one disturbing yet awesome horror shooter. Do you like your hands bloody? Caleb does. And so does this reviewer. Blood for MS-DOS PCs - The game and all the expansions, DRM-free, are now available on gog. com for an unbeatable price!

I did not experience Blood as far as playing it goes until Thanksgiving night 2020 where I bought Blood: Fresh Supply off of Steam while it was on sale for five bucks and would usual cost ten bucks! Blood: Fresh Supply is the third game on my Steam library where I perfected the game unlocking every achievement for it which was a month ago when I unlocked my final two remaining Steam achievements in it of it's 20 achievements and they where my third and second least favorite achievements to work hard and play hard to unlock yet I managed to do it eventually! I perfected Shadow Warrior Classic Redux later on that same week which is the modern released version of the original Shadow Warrior! As far as the easiest difficulties go with both Blood: Fresh Supply and Shadow Warrior Classic Redux I find Shadow Warrior's Tiny Grasshopper harder than Blood's Still Kicking! I can remember dying more times by enemies in Shadow Warrior's Tiny Grasshopper than so in Blood's Still Kicking! At least Shadow Warrior Classic Redux didn't have achievements that required certain difficulty minimum or maximum unlike Blood: Fresh Supply that did so with one achievement which was my last achievement I unlocked to 100% Blood: Fresh Supply achievements! I still today think Blood is the most underrated of the GT Interactive Classic Build Engine Trinity! Awesome video!

I love this game but after a while the level design just gets unforgivable and I find myself putting it down because I'm sick of walking around a level in circles, a great example of this is episode 3 level 6 which made me want to just skip to the next episode. Honestly the level design is terrible compared to duke 3d and people seem to refuse to acknowledge how much worse it is because DA WEAPONS R KOOL.

Just thinking, I know this video is from 2010. But if anybody saw this video now and wonders where to find this game, Steam has an Remastered version of this game ina pretty cheap price. I don't remember if it includes the dlc, but at least the base game is there and you can play it without any issues in modern platforms.

Howdy, LGR. Is there a proper way of running Blood and SW1 in 3dfx mode under the MSDOS? I was spending the whole last week, trying 3dfx patch with SW1, and depending on EMM386 settings, the game can only freeze during the boot, or to report Glide driver failed to reserve 4MB of ram. How do I beat this quest?

I got to play blood 1 time and was instantly hooked but never saw it again. instead finding lame copycats like. well i forgot their names but they came out for consoles a couple years later and all sucked.
Another super gory game from this era was SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (the first one, the second one sucked!

I remember playing this multiplayer at LAN parties. If I remember correctly you can type in some random number and be teleported to some map. But my point is, there was a football (soccer) field where you could kick heads at goals. Why? Coz its freaking awesome

CORRECTION! : Marathon (a Mac FPS developed by Bungie) featured alternate fire modes AND dual wielding back in 1994.
Also, have you covered it yet? I would be interested in seing what you're thoughts on the Marathon trilogy are.

I never even heard of Blood till long after Duke 3D and Shadow Warrior. I found it on a freeware site, and was quite surprised when I realized I was playing a slightly updated Build game. It was like finding burried treasure.

I am sure this game isn't for everybody's taste, but there is definitelly more to it than what was said in this review. From my point of view one of the best atmospheric games on PC. Ofcourse, the HD soundtrack is a must.

I'm a decade late typing this, but showing the cut-scenes would've been a good idea. Interestingly enough, as a kid I could not get this game installed, so the cutscene animations on the CD were all I could see of blood.
