Hey Phreaky that sounds like a simple feat to me - can't you just record in Cubase (or whatever you use) in the background? - Another option - if you have an audio recorder (handheld or otherwise, just double the cables - one to your pc for livestreaming, and one to the recorder. Main thing here is just that you don't use any kind of compression - the higher the comp. the more time lagg (stuff goes slowly off-sync. But yeah ok. 24 Bit 96. 000KHz may drag cpu a bit. Rock on Grimrock, man; .

I'm not one of the -old guard- (though I'm not overly young either, I basically just missed the tile-based era, by starting to game on PC in 97, though I have been playing games since 89, but Legend of Grimrock has managed to spellbind me, to the point where I've managed to forget to eat (literally.
It is a quality game through and through, and probably for everyone who enjoys slightly more complex & unforgiving CRPGs.

Its pretty painful so far. Cmon LGR! Close combat guys in front, put ranged weapons in hand slots in back as well as the torch. Look for the secrets, pick up the clothes you forgot about. Its all that Sims playing hasn't it? Its made you a dirty casual good sir. (A dirty casual with an amazing collection of games and systems. :P )

I can't help that right now. Crap mic with crap upstream, so if you feel like getting me the cash to take care of either of those I'd be more inclined to improve. Otherwise, I suppose you can get over it, as nobody is forcing you to watch these. Or if they are, then you might want to make them stop: )

I just played through the first level of this game so I will probably only watch up to that as to not be spoilered and then feel elite at the puzzles, secrets, and clever ideas I unlocked whilst discovering cool things like how torches work in game and what you can do with them afterwards.

I read about your mic (why not use the one you record videos with) but how come the resolution for your stream archives is so low? Doesn't Twitch record at 720p or better now? Just wondering, seems a shame everything is of such low quality (apart from content of course)

-OH YEAH PANTS! - I'm not sure I've ever heard someone get so excited over an article of clothing. :: ) As always another great video. Good job. I like watching you play these obscure titles I would never hear of otherwise and show me games I would like to play.

do people seriously complain about the audio quality that much? i mean i guess you can tell the difference but it doesnt detract from the content at all. its fine, just a little distorted. im not sure i would have noticed if it wasnt for the blog post thing about it.
reply

It makes little difference what I record with, since my upstream is 0. 5Mbps. That only allows a tiny video resolution and low-quality audio. And since I believe content is king I'd rather focus on that and have fun now than delaying it and spending money I don't have.

It's a POS freebie headset recording at 22khz. That's about as good as it gets, unfortunately. Going lower means you can't hear me at all, since it doesn't pick up very well. I've asked for recommendations for other headsets in the past, still open to ideas!
