But a janitor cleaning up the scene? You'd get to see all the blood, and piece together whatever the hell happened there with no actual responsibility to the law. Where did the rampage start? Who died first, and how? Where's the main weapon? What was the motive?
You'd be cleaning up, and you'd find bloody handprints all over the computer. You have to use a special rag, but once you do you can see the screen. Is this the reason? Is there more to it than that?
You could do the same with alien outbreaks for a sci-fi feel. Who let them out? Did they know about this? Was this someone's plan all along, or a sick joke gone wrong? Was it revenge?
I might not binge eight hours in a row on it, but I'd certainly find it worth frequent replays. Who knows, maybe I missed something. Maybe someone's got a theory online, and now I'm looking through different perspective.

Haven't tried Santa's Rampage version of this but I got another Viscera spinoff for purchasing Shadow Warrior and I played that through. The basics are the same: blood, spacemop, cleaning. While it was pretty neat to see the place to be cleaned, I'm not sure if I'd pay a couple of extra bucks just to have that game separateley. It was fun for an hour or two, but not my type of game.

I've been wanting to play this for a while but I can't. (I'm broke and my laptop is a fossilized turd) I remember I first heard about this series when Yahtzee played the original it in one of his -Lets Drown Out- videos and my girlfriend told me she downloaded this particular version xD It's a game that pretty much panders to my OCD and I would love to play it. I just need to save for a better laptop first.

When I'm not cleaning similarly infuriating messes at my job which involves mopping pizza related fisacos, I come home and unwind after a long night of delivery and the following cleanup to Viscera Cleanup Detail, in all 3 flavors. Lately, I have keeping things holiday appropriate and playing this very version you've reviewed. It's so much more fun than it should be.

That's something I love about the 2013 Shadow Warrior reboot, (wonderful game in its own right) it came with a version ov Viscera Cleanup Detail that was the first level of Shadow Warrior after Lo Wang has been there, in fact it's actually Lo Wang doing the cleanup, so you get some of his quips as you clean up your own mess, it's quite interesting as a freebie.

I have precisely one beef with VCD: I didn't see any kind of tutorial. Seriously, I bought the game, loaded it up, and suddenly found myself facing complete ignorance and getting a failure despite thinking I'd done a pretty good cleanup job, not to mention having had no idea how to answer the questionnaire.

I'm no expert on things like this, but is there a mortal combat version of this game? If there is, boy, that janitors got a mess ahead of him. I mean come on! They rip each others spines out, rip off each others legs and beat the opponent with them, rip out hearts. That'll take a big cleanup team.

I have divergent thoughts on this game. From one side, looks comfy and relaxing, especially if you play it with a friend over LAN or something, but on the other side. Boooring! I'd rather get a work as a janitor, at least there I get paid.

I won this game at a cod4 forum raffle and wow, this game was hard for me a couple of minutes. i ended up messing up a lot w/ footstep prints and dropping the water and all that other stuff x. x

I think the title of the game is using the word -detail- not in the sense that it requires detailed workmanship, but rather in the military sense of a -detail- being a small unit of specialized troops.
