Fun fact: The music for this game has been used in FX's TV show -Archer- during multiple scenes. One instance I remember is during that shrinking vessel inside the scientist's body episode. I had to rewind a few times and listen intently for it, but it's there. I believe the track is called: -All Out Action-. Another one I remember from the soundtrack is -A Long Time Ago-, a Godfather-esque track that was used for Archer's S03E08 for the one with the Italian President. Funny how that is the legacy of this game now.

Much as I liked this game, there were quite a few annoyances with it. Not only was a lack of employees a big issue, but also it seemed like set & actor overuse was a constant complaint about my films. Perhaps it's because I grinded them out way too often as part of my strategy, but honestly, it feels that it just takes 3-4 films before a set is considered too overused. Just seems to happen way too quickly.

This game was really awesome! For a young simmer and city builder it was so badass. I think i was even into windows movie maker around the time too so looking back it was amazing. I still have it on cd but i never got the expansion and i still regret it to this day. Im sure as an adult now i would know how to end a story without explosions but why live like that?

It-s funny, I-m watching this on the official second day of fall 6 years in the future from when this video went up. I always binge watch LGR when I-m sad about things. Clint, thank you for the years of amazing content that has brought me peace and joy all of the time, but especially when I really need it. Thank you kind sir for what you do and all that you put into it.

This game was amazing and still it gained no really worthy successor. I use to use the online portion when it was online it was so fun uploading movies and seeing peoples movies that were made honestly just that kept me entertained for quite some time. I really wish there was a website soley dedicated to The Movies game with user submitted content and mods.

Can't easily access Menus 'cause the Developer found a more 'intuitive' Method. A classical Molyneux. According to Google, Stefan Malyneux is more relevant than Peter Molyneux. Just wanna be able to state that. Otherwise. Yeah, Game's great. One of few Molyneux Games than ain't a complete failure. Except for the Bullfrog Years, of course.

I loved this game as a kid. I read the strategy guide over and over before I got the game itself. Then I basically just made my own silly movies. I picked it up again years later and appreciated the business sim aspects more. It has its flaws but it was so fun and had such a unique aesthetic that I still get nostalgic for it.

i hope its put back on steam again, not sure why it was removed. When it was listed I didn't buy a copy because I have the DVD version, but my disc is now scratched and wouldnt mind revisitng this game. Only other option outside unsafe/illegal cracked downloads is to buy another hard copy on ebay or amazon.

I remember seeing this sold in physical stores back in the day. Never understood the point of it, but to be fair, i never even tried it. After watching this video, I'm itching to though. Too bad it's not sold online (at least, not that i know, I'll have to check, and that the online community was shut down.

So can anyone get this game working properly on Windows 10?
Installed the game + expansion,
applied the noCD Patch (DRM causes crashed on Win10,
patched the 4GB patch
Game launches fine. But it crashes as soon as the first awards Ceremony starts. Cannot get any further
