I was definitely hooked on this game for a couple of weeks. I wasn't expecting anything LIKE fallout other than the art style so it wasn't instant disappointment but I soon realised something. Theres no purpose to doing ANYTHING really once the initial -buzz- wears off. All you do is just repeat the same -click the green boxes- gameplay forever. You stop caring about the dwellers you've been raising and -overseeing- for ages. Its a nice game in certain ways don't get me wrong but for me, it just SUDDENLY clicked: What is the point, its not going anywhere and it isn't going to. I hadn't even got the point where Deathclaws come and kill every single dweller in 4 of your floors but I don't think I'll let it get that far. I only let my population reach 35, I wasn't bothered about massive expansion, there didn't seem to be a reason other than unlocking more rooms which got boring after the 35 point to me.
All in all it was good, looked good and it even had that Fallout -charm-, but the enjoyment soon becomes bitter realisation LOL! I thought it'd be a worthy replacement to Metal Slug Defense, and it was, but only for a week or 2. MS: D had way, WAAAY more substance, even after months of playing it, grinding and completing all the worlds, its still fun to fire up every now and then! Back to my quest to find something that can actually compete with it solidly.

I had to restart around 50 dwellers, as I was running into an issue where incidents (especially mole rats) were causing significantly unexpected levels of damage. The only thing I could think of, after some research, was just a sheer lack of HP. So, I restarted, and have avoided leveling up my dwellers until I can get their Endurance up to 10. That alone was a bit of a challenge, since swapping equipment or checking their status to give them a stimpack meant having to tap them juuuuust right, or they would level up instead of showing me their stats window.
Right now, I'm playing the game with optimization as a goal, not dweller count. Once my current dwellers have max Endurance and whatever stat they will be using for their assigned post, I can start looking into getting each one to 50 in the wasteland, then slowly build up more dwellers and see if that makes mid-game a little less painful.

I am so glad this game came out on Android since my Ipod was too old to support it. Now I can play it on my PC.
I have been really enjoying it. For an Idle Game, it actually seems to put more work into being a game than most.
These games tend to add more content for later parts of the game as time goes by, and I imagine FS will be no exception. I can totally see them adding in science experiments, more threats than are currently present, and more.
One thing I would like to see would be for explorers with high enough Charisma to be able to recruit Dwellers in the wasteland or those with high enough Luck to find loot on Raiders that attack your vault. I would also love if there were collectibles like books and bobbleheads to be found out there.
How are you finding your Mr Handies? Are they worth the purchase?

I had it for 2 days, then I uninstalled it. There is no win/lose stages, it's not very engaging, you don't feel a sense of progression despite you just keep upgrading your base. It kinda just goes in one. boring direction.
I personally didn't like it. The most interesting element was the Wasteland descriptions. like, the humor and idea of it is great, but the execution is too -handheld- it gets boring quick, and I completely agree with Clint.
I don't understand why they don't develop ACTUAL games, with win and loss conditions, AND a sense of progression! The first 5min of the game feel the exact same as 2 hours in the game. Nothing in the game changes in a sense of gameplay, and I honestly rather wanna spend my time playing Baldurs Gate or Raptor on my ipad than this. Boring.

Hey lgr, I've watched your videos for a few years now and a big fan of your approach to the review process. In regards to this game I think you were a bit more kind than i was. I understand the premise I just get bored after I hit 100 dwellers and have it all unlocked and implemented into my Vault. You have definitely more lunchboxes than me too as the daily goals haven't allowed me to gain but 4 or 5 boxes in the couple of months I've been diving into it. Good job on the review and compared to other mobile games it's not as bad on what to expect. I just felt like there wasn't anything left to do after a certain point.

Be cool if Heroes of Dragon Age worked like this. I like that it has lots of cool cameos, sound effects and music from the game, etc but it seems like gold is useless, and the slow ass pace at which you collect the gems to get the better random packs is insanely slow (I'd be surprised if it's even possible to get the 300+ gems needed to get the next highest pack - I've bought two of the 38 gem packs from normal gameplay and gotten two Red/Epic characters but there are two tiers of characters above that.

I couldn't get to contructing themes before having 110+ dwellers and wanting to put down the game because I didn't have enough cola. Neither was I able to do quest to get more money to expand my base. (The quests aren't too great to justify spending money on them btw) So I just ended up getting fed up and deleted the game even though I was addicted to it for three days.
So I guess there IS some stuff to do after having 100+ dwellers in the newer versions. But I don't really care at this point

They added alot to it including quests! And i personally never spent any real money.
If you have not played it since the quests have been added i suggest you check it out. one of the only mobile games i play and now Elder Scrolls Legends mobile game is out! REVIEW IT! It is a card style game like MAGIC
-weird i never have lag issues and you can unlock the ability to for them to level up and keep going.
AGAIN THEY ADDED QUESTS YOU ACTUALLY GO OUT WITH 1-3 DWELLERS! TRY IT!

I really hate some of the enemies in Fallout Shelter.
For example I don't really like Deathclaws because they really get to board and they just run off to the next room.
Like what the hell man, usually deathclaws finish what they started-.
And Radscorpion are the freaking worse, they do similar things compared to a Deathclaw.
I'm going to tell you what makes Radscorpion worse, they will go into random rooms if they get bored.
And my God that is so annoying!

My biggest problem with this game wasn't game play, but that every time I got on my resources were lowered from where I left them and a whole minute of gameplay and I got attacked immediately via deathclaws. I honestly just got tired of having to fight the deathclaws over and over again as well as resurrect the guys that I had placed on the top floor which were mainly scientist types so they weren't very strong versus the deathclaw wave I would get everytime I started the game.
