I personally have rather negative attitude about this particular add-on. Maybe not exactly about content itself (although it's rather humble, comparing to new episode in Secret Files, but also due to the way it was sold. This add-on was sold in Poland as well (only named slightly different - -Zimowe Przygody- (Winter Adventures) instead of Christmas Chronicles. But aside from that - it was sold for the same price as The Secret Files, which contained not only this add-on (so new episode + Lori as playable character, but also ENTIRE content of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 (in fact I'm not sure if we even had -separate- Secret Files sold. That's quite disappointing, the same price, but HUGE difference in content. And if I'm correct, it was sold in similar way in Germany and (probably) in Netherlands as well.
I know, it's standalone add-on and had also level editor, but the -already done- single-player content in Christmas Chronicles is so small, those three levels can be finished very quickly. Holiday Hare 94 and 95 were also very short, but those were available absolutely for free. I don't like to tell it (since Jazz jackrabbit is for me, as probably for many PC players, the same character as it was Sonic for owners of Sega consoles, but Christmas Chronicles is probably the most unfortunate entry in the series, due to the way it was distributed (not counting spin-off on GBA.
Besides - I never understood why they had insist on putting some -hell- theme into game addressed to everyone, also for younger audience - last levels in JJ2 were situated in hell, we were fighting with some chubby -Bubba- devil at some point, in Christmas Chronicles we've got also -devil- boss. I'm not telling that there shouldn't be any -not-infantile- content, but hell, devils? Eh, this part was for me always -not in the right place-, even back in the days when I've played in Jazz 2 for the first time (which was about 18 years ago.

The demo fondness definitely resonates with me, when I got my OG PlayStation, it came with the demo disc #6, teasing what actually turned out to be great games, such as Crash Bandicoot 2 (the first snow stage which actually behaves like an introductory stage considering it's the second one in the full game, Tomb Raider 2 (the first half of the first level, that darned tiger killed me more times than I remember, Gex 2, Bloody Roar and Hot Shots Golf.
A year later, my sister who lived in the US at the time brought me a Pizza Hut demo disc that had even more amazing games, like MediEvil (one of my absolute favorites from the PS1, Metal Gear Solid, Crash 3 and Tomb Raider 3. I either bought, rented or ended up playing all of them, but without magazines or TV shows covering PS1 games, demo discs were a godsend for me.
Even on PC, I have more fond memories of playing the Quake 3 demo than the actual full game!

I fear this may not even be his final form, I theorise that clone Clint will surpass us all in terms of physical and psychological strength to a point where we will be powerless to stop him, and that he will enslave the whole of humanity for all eternity, damning us to lives that consist of nothing more than reviewing old Christmas games. Our only chance of survival, and the only one capable of defeating him in his current state is the original Clint, who has been confirmed missing for the last few days, likely to have been kidnapped by the clone if this video has any validity. It is estimated that we only have until new-years-day to free Clint and form an army against the clone menace.
May God have mercy on our souls.

-I'm almost more fond of the incomplete demos than I am of the full versions of some of these games. -
Yeah I can understand that, I remember the Starcraft 1 demo which was specifically designed to tease you with new and powerful units like the goliath and the firebat. Playing that demo it felt like anything was possible in the full game and it could stretch out to an unknown distance in any direction, I'd see a goliath and a firebat and think about what stronger units could be in the full game. I still love Starcraft 1 but nothing could live up to that infinite seeming mass of charged potential the demo handed me.

KIKAGAKU MOYO! -
Not only do we both have records on the wall, we also both have beards, glasses and a House in the Tall Grass. It must be a sign of Christmas.
Have you heard Kikagaku's latest record yet? It's a safe buy if you haven't, go grab it. -
Your clone does have an impeccable taste in music. Or are those still your records? Who knows.
I am wondering; -Jakub-? -
Either his parents were creative, or he didn't quite write the -o- properly: D.

I'm just so excited to see the lore behind the Clint Christmas Clone get deeper and deeper.
I fully expect a feature length action movie in the future where one such clone is accidentally programmed with Duke Nukem's personality, and he and the actual Clint team up to shut down the cloning operation (which we learn is run by none other than)

This is gona be a bit late, but since we're speaking of enjoying demos, i greatly enjoyed the demo of descent back when it was released on a pc gamer CD. I enjoyed the hell out of descent demo, and i played it a lot, and i couldnt understand how those massive 7 levels could be considered demo or how cheap it was to buy the magazine with the cd.

I honestly didn't realize other people had played Ms dos games. Lol I was very fond of number one, being a poor child a did PC was invaluable to me. Electroman and Jill of the jungle were high on my list too. I played dozens since they sold on dollar racks at pawn shops when I was young

Just to say - big fan of your videos. I had a request, not sure if you do those. Since about a hundred years ago (so it feels) I have had a game called Hostile Waters, Anteus Rising. If you have never played it then I recommend it! Would love to see your take on it. Steam and GoG sell it.

sufe af wish i knew about holiday hare 2 back in the day. they never even sent me my free copy of jazz 1.
but why tf would it say it was for win 95 if it was for win 98>? usually it at least lists both the OS's
and Damn epic for not simply making their own holiday hare.
