My parents are divorced and my mom uses a LOT of dating apps, such as tinder or bumble (My dad is happily married to my stepmom who he actually met on OK Cupid but that's a different story, but since my mom uses so many dating apps, one time she literally told me she was considering BREAKING UP WITH SOMEONE because they weren't super cute anymore. She is the shallowest, most superficial, self centered person I swear. I asked her, does he make you happy, do you laugh when you're around him? Or are you always upset wen hanging out with him, and going on dates feels like a chore? She said he makes her laugh and she feels happy around him, but he, and I quote, Is kinda chubby and has a weird face WHAT! You want to break up with this guy, this guy, that makes you happy and is really nice and cares about you, this guy who cheers you up when you're sad. All because he isn't up to your BEAUTY STANDARDS. I give up tbh, she judges everyone on how they look and has even told me my friends aren't very good looking and that I should hang out with prettier people. She's 50 years old and has divorced twice. First of all, now I know why she divorced twice. Secondly, she is FIFTY YEARS OLD, how has she not grown up enough to realize that there's a person behind that pretty/not pretty face?

I can't do the apps, they're so impersonal, and you have no idea whether you'll actually like them IRL. Vibes are not the same as pics, and you gotta meet in person for that. I'm glad I'm not the only one
