The significant issue with having a Big A-lister like Denzel playing is that their mannerisms shine through too much, like Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, etc. It feels like I'm just watching them in costume with their mannerisms full on display. The only A-lister I can remember doing a good job recently toning their mannerism for a role was in Oppenheimer with Robert Downey Jr when the director Chrisopther Nolan told he needed to done Robert downey jr persona aka mannerism.

Gladiator, 300, and Sicario are the three movies off the top of my head that had the perfect blend of action and drama. This trailer is reminding me of the unnecessary sequels to 300 and Sicario which became more action and fast paced than their predecessors. I fear this movie will be more in your face with less emotional content than the first one. The music in the trailer I could care less.

How much were you paid to shill This film is an abomination and the allegory of communism destroying an empire, i. e. the people rising up, would result in the very same thing it did for the Tsar Empire. 120Million people and an entire Royal family wiped off the face of the earth.

You guys are dumb, the song speaks about the subject of the movie. The lyrics speak of bloodshed, kings, and godsthe context of the movie.
A movie isn’t going to be hurt by parts of a song, and Denzel is going to be the most memorable character in the movie for a phenomenal performance as always. Stop boo hooing

After getting really overly excited about ridley scotts Napoleon and being so let down im not going to rush to the cinema for this. There's a few red flags and 'modern' crap that shouldn't be in a historical epic. Through i don't doubt Washington will do a fine job. even if the rest of the filmsstructure is poor.

The song isn't the only problem. The lead does not stand out in the trailer, the plot sounds bland, and Denzel Washington (a typically fantastic actor) is delivering too modern a performance (as if he were a 21st century time traveler stuck in ancient Rome.

I am losing respect for Ridley Scott. Ever since his Prometheus bullcrap blocking out Neil Blomkamp's Alien 3 movie. Gladiator 2 looks like a joke. How the f did Lucius end up like this. What There is no way you can top Russell crowe and Joaquin Phoenix

Any problem with the trailer is a marketing problem, which is different department from the actual movie. Some things in the trailer, are not always shown in every movie. After hearing about this conversation I have no problem with the trailer.

Not sure it's the right niche but if anyone wants to counter such movie ideology I strongly recommend Schwerpunkts Traditional Roman religious and military content
