Even though overall i liked It felt really contrived especially with the nods and blatant parallels also to the movie it just made it felt repurposed which for me was so obvious it took away a hell of a lot of the enjoyment away that i felt i should have had for this movie i mean you can pay homage to the past of the franchise and still do your own thing with it TopGun Maverick is a great example of this a few lines here and there and one scene recreation at the beginning of that film that's the right balance to have to create a original movie of a beloved franchise whilst respecting it's past plus the lines in TopGun Maverick where heavily well within context of the scene in Romulus some of the lines felt really out of context such as the one Andy says there was no reason for him in that scene to say that line but when Ripley says it in Aliens it has context and thus it has such huge context it has gravitas but when Andy says it again no context and thuis no gravitas.
Also the scenes with the closeups of the Xenomorphs were far to well lit which again took away the horror factor of these creatures for me i mean i don't know if this is my film colourist analytical mind working overtime but it just felt off and yeah the curse of working in the industry and then trying to enjoy a cinematic experience can b challenging.
I mean don't get me wrong i liked it over all but i felt i would have enjoyed it a hell fo a lot more if there were far fewer nod's and not so many parallel scenes in there and aside from the above i loved the aesthetics over all the sets where so awesome especially the colony and i don't think that was a mining colony as Burk refers to in Aliens Weyland Corp as its called then in 37 years time evidently letting Yutani part of the company go Burk explains to ripley in Aliens that Weyland creates the Atmosphere processors and terraforms planets.

I thought the film was great I enjoy how the characters were written, the visual effects where impressive. I thought the director connecting Prometheus and expanding the Alien universe was well done.
My theory for the sequel is that Weyland yutani is going to intercept Ryan and his ship so that can be interrogated. As well to retrieve compound Z01 I'm beginning to recreate more xenomorph
But Kay's character could return as compound Z01 was in her system so like how it can bring back a dead mouse that was crushed and then the bones healed as well later mutated into a xenomorph hybrid. So the same could happen to her and cause mayhem

La la la Laaammmmme. A very disappointing movie. Bad script. Horribly written characters with absolutely no redeeming points. Not enough Alien too much of the Face Huggers. Too many nods and elements from the other movies. The end was a cluster f that made no logical sense. And. WHY does (almost) every Alien movie have to end with a gun toting female wearing a tank top Seriously. New ideas hurt too much Only decent points to the movie was that it looked good. Direction, sets and the practical effects were done well.

This entire franchise is some of the silliest stuff Hollywood has come out with that has gained a fan base. Rabid space monsters is the futures dorky person zombie apocalypse fantasy they all hope they have what it takes to survive against the odds.

The Gore was pretty mild in my opinion. You can see Disney all over this. Also side note: this movie, you take Alien, Alien Isolation, a dash of Aliens mixed in with a sprinkle of Alien Resurrection and Prometheus and you get Alien Romulus

I saw that scene and wasn’t super freaked out, I was more freaked out when I saw the belly bursters in requiem or the newborn zombie baby in the Dawn of the Dead remake

This movie wasn’t gory that much. In fact it was pretty tamed however it was very suspenseful. The goriest ones I can think of were covenant and resurrection

Birth isn't shocking unless you see the crowing. Movies can't replicate that horror no matter what monster comes out the other end

that scene was definitly not the most comfortable watching, especially with how the creature looks, giving that evil smile in scenes

I dont understand why they keep putting black people in scifi movies. They can't even build a boat, let alone something that flies.

The X-Ray light scene is what got me hooked. What a cool way to show the chest burster. Going to see it again this Saturday!
