The 10 Worst And 10 Best Stephen King Movies Bella: I read the book Needful Things as well as watched the movie, a few times, I think they adapted it very well from the book and if you can't see that it's your problem. Thinner was also good, I read the book, I listened to it on tape and I watched the movie a couple times. Didn't watch anything from 4: 09 to 7: 25 nor did I watch them here. Carrie was and is still a great movie while Stand by me was ok, I enjoyed The Dead Zone the series more. I'd have to agree with you on Shawshank Redemption, The Shining, The Green Mile and 1408 all were spectacular movies as far as Misery goes, I preferred the book over the movie, also preferred the original It

This review is crap. Missing out so many classic and putting a few classic into worse films. Ones put in top ten most are crap and not his horror stories but rather thrillers. I think the person who made this list has not watched a lot of King's films or was too scarred to view them. As Mark8675332 list below some classics not mentioned. There are a few others with unique plots like the dark half, golden years. The running man, pet semetary, creepshow, Selem's lot etc

I loved Dreamcatcher, the book and the movie also liked Maximum Overdrive, and found Riding the Bullet a bit creepy. Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorite movies, Absolutely loved Misery, book and movie version, as well as Dolores Claiborne, and IT, same with the Green Mile. Personally, I think King's scariest books/movies are Rose Red, The Stand, Pet Sematary, Christine, and Carrie.

certain things arent on this list because its all about opinion guys. This was probably compiled with the aim to agree with most peoples opinions but they cant get them all on. In my opinion Pet Sematary (old version) was one of Kings best adaptations but some people dont agree so thats why its not on here and the same with the rest

The Stand was far and away the absolute best of adaptions of King's work. Thanks to his insistence on being involved it followed the plot of the book perfectly. The cast of all-stars led by the ineffable Gary Sinise who absolutely KILLED it was perfectly done. It was the best thing I've seen on screen of his work ever.

Pet cemetery. Fred Gwynne and Dale Midkiff, brilliant casting. That is epic chemistry between 2 very underrated actors. Overcoming some very stiff and poor performaces from Denise Crosby and Brad Greenquist, Gwynne and Midkiff dominate. By far the most engrossing of stephen king movies. Amazing acting between these 2.

Needful Things doesnt have the depth of character the book had, but it never could. The novella Needful Things was the culmination of every story that had ever taken place in Castle Rock, Maine. It had over a decade of build up. For what it can be, Needful Things (1993) is a perfectly fun, enjoyable film.

Stephen King didn't care for Kubrick's The Shining, because it was CRAP! (There should be a hundred times as many exclamation marks, but time prevents that.
Mind you, the TV version after Kubrick's death -- despite being more faithful to the book -- doesn't deserve a mention, either.
