It was heavily implied that Dmitri and several in his group had been ex-military. They even mentioned things like combat in Afghanistan, recognized mercenary iconography, and were able to effectively communicate with hand signals. Additionally they were able to coordinate and ambush several militia's in the street en route to the final showdown. Not really a mystery as they spoon-fed more than enough information to expound on his combat ability and physicality.

I think that the upper class gets that it is about exterminating the lower class; the middle class buries their heads, buys their purge insurance and votes NFFA as their taxes are lower; the lower class get culled but have a small rise in wages and less problems from mad criminals, who are likely to be purged hardest. I also agree with Looper that the causes are going to be explored hard in the tv series.

The Purge would never happen, There are not enough rich (white) people in America to get the NFFA elected to activate the Purge. Even low income whites would be subject to the death of the Purge just like everyone else, Imagine voting for the NFFA and then dying in a Purge, Ironic.

For all those saying this movie is garbage it really isnt if u take time out ur day and watch the movie its really emotional and action packed. They created the first purge as a backstory on why and how it happened. Its not a funny story when u really understand whats happening.

The militia turn into the truck loads of government killers in the second purge. And the racist militia that comes after the froup in Election year. They were in all the movies bit i guess its race baiting when they show where they come from

If the purge actually happened that will be crazy. But the people who think the movie is crap well its your opinion i respect that but alot of movies are crap. Not every movie is amazing. In my opinion its a great movie
