Many of the questions between the OT and PT are because those concepts were not conceived yet. George Lucas contradicted A LOT of what was said and done in the OT to fit his new outlook and direction when making the PT. This alienated a lot of fans that grew up with the OT.
I expected the story for another time as well. However, the fate of Luke's/Anakin's lightsaber has always been a cause for speculation. The Thrawn trilogy ends with Luke's clone wielding his old lightsaber. IMO the lightsaber was found by those exhausting all means for finding a trace for Luke; in TFA it is stated several times that Luke's disappearance caused somewhat of a panic, and people were searching all over for him. I originally thought Rey was cloned from Luke's hand because of those so concerned about without the Jedi there can be no balance in the force. At the time that seemed justification for why Rey seemed to echo Luke's abilities, talents, and some memories for no conceivable reason, and was later was proven not to be Luke's daughter.

Two things: 1) Snoke used lightning; 2) as far as the EU went, which has been becoming more and more integrated, for a sith master to not teach their pupil the skill to have an upper hand is counter to the Rule of Two. The sith adopted the rule in part so that the Sith would grow stronger. The theory is that if the pupil fails in killing their master, they were not deserving of the title Dark Lord of the Sith. However if the pupil beat the master, theoretically they will have not only learned everything their master had known, but were stronger in some aspect or had knowledge of something the other didnt - all of which is consistent with palpatine saying he was all the Sith.

1: 26 yes AND? its 900 year before its yoda. i think its yoda. they not told it lol. who cares if it yoda or same species or his dad. its yoda like that have amazing powers on BABY so it must be yoda. and empire is again callapsed or was it first time?
and what he is yodas baby lol. storm troopers cant look same 900 years before and empire cant be down again. so what if this future not past lol. who cares? its yoda even it not make sense. why storm troopers are there looking same as 900 years later

- Finn was going to say he's Force-sensitive.
- Snoke used Force lightning in TLJ.
- The Senate fell down the Imperial Tower of the Death Star, but the man can create Snokes, take down an entire fleet with Force lightning (after a Reylo buff, limit the Force connection for 10, 000 Jedi in the prequels, and used Sith science/magic to fight Yoda through the Force, is his surviving a long fall really that out there?

Rey did not use forcw lightning, Rey used a jedi version called force judgement. Force judgement is the uncommen jedi version of force lightning. Jedi Plo Koon is an example of a jedi who could use force judgement. It is propable that rey could only use it because she was putting enormous amounts of effort into her pulling. This is also why she was unable to control it, it just happend.

You see Finn on the Falcon wince and lean up against the wall like and say. Rey(similar to how leia reacts to Han's death/planets being destroyed in Force Awakens. Secondly: Snoke did use force lightning in The Last Jedi.

You left out the biggest unanswered question of them all! Why is the film called the rise of skywalker? What skywalker they on about? Kylo/Ben is a Solo Rey is a Palpatine Luke and Leia are gone. In fact the whole of Disney's trilogy shouldn't be considered part of the skywalker saga and it isn't in my house coz I'm never adding them to my star wars collection

Snoke uses FORCE Lightning in the last Jedi, when Rey charges him. He bounces it off the ground. Wait. maybe it was Kylo Ren, but Snoke uses force lightning when he bounces it off the ground and knocks Kylo back. Check it out.
