When Lady and Tramp wake up together the next day, it all seems innocent enough. When Aunt Sarah gets hold of Lady and chains her in the yard, Jock and Trusty both go to comfort her. and propose marriage (it's subtle, but it's there) to shield Lady from being an unmarried mother (a real taboo in those days. Her argument with Tramp is pretty much, You lied to me, made out I was the one, but I was yet another one of your young lady fancies! Now I'm pregnant! How dare you! Go away!
The scene at the end does show they married just in time for the births of Annette, Danielle, Collette and Scamp (names confirmed in background notes. It was definitely a message of don't rush into love, you'll get burned if you're not careful!

Disney's version of Dame Gothel reminded me of my ex's manipulative, bipolar stepmother. As much as I liked the movie, I cannot stand to watch it because of that character.
