Sheena Easton was a member of the public who got her career via a show called The Big Time hosted by Esther Rantzen on the BBC - the show would pick ordinary people then give them a try at making it big - so id probably say she was the most successful of all (unless you include Phil Collins who played in King Rat. The song Morning Train: 9 to 5 is only called that because of the Dolly Parton number in the US - in the UK it was released and hit No1 as 9 to 5 - and was the song recorded during the BBC show. Her meeting with Prince and songs like Sugar Walls was the foundation of US success.

My fav is Don Johnson followed in close 2nd with James Olmos. key to the quality of the show was the Director Micheal Mann. Miami Vince even today is a great watch, it can come across a bit dated however its still very entertaining. TUBBS i never really liked that much, i think he didnt have much of a career after Miami Vince was rumours of arrogance and difficulty working with, the fact that he basically had no real tv or film career after probably confirms the rumours.

Phillip Michael Thomas used to walk around with a gold necklas had BIG gold pendant with the letters EGOT. He said it stood for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony, and that he said was going to win all of them. He didnt win any of them, and sure as hell he wont now!

1984, Friday night 10: 00-11: 00 would get high as balls and watch this masterpiece of a show, living in West Palm Beach at the time, it hit close to home, to this day I don't think there has been a better show than this one!

I stopped watching MV after a few years. Every episode was about Crocket and that got very old quick. Edward James Olmos is a great actor. He character on Battle Star Galactica, Commander Odama is epic!
