Look, I’m not a big wow player, I’m mostly from the old rts days, so I’m biased, turalyon and Alirea are some of my favourite characters so I’ve been prying blizzard would do something with Arator for years, so I’m happy he’s finally front and centre, and you know what arator been a halfway thing since inception with him being half elf so with his mother being void it makes sense that they’d want to turn him half light half void.
I just wish the execution was better, light and void have been shown to be pretty opposed to each other hell it took years for his parents to touch again, so I personally just think it’d be a better way for this storyline if Arator didn’t so much use the void as. Can shape it And not naturally, like build on something of his character would have lived and witnesses, he’s got parents that daily deal with finding peace between ligh and void and undoubtedly he’d want to be able to hung and get close to his mother so things like that, for example.
On that bit when they were fighting the big purple dude, instead of Arator naturally connecting to his mind, maybe have the big dude after his I’m more powerful but he actually does a scripted bit where there’s a damaging field around the room and everyone has to be in their own protective bubble again but, their being overwhelmed, but as Arator’s is shrinking, you can hear him talking to something coxing it and then you see the darkness that was supposed to damage him flow from him into the void elf, the void elf turns off the aoe, light comes back on all three of us kill bad guy.
And then after that when being asked about it Arator’s doesn’t fully know how he did it, he just remembers once in a previous expansion seeing his mother injured and as his father tried to heal her their powers lashed out, so Turalyon lowered his light to not aggravate the void and with the calming light Alirea was able to concentrate the wild void she was shooting out to one area as to not damage anyone, and all Arator was trying to do was copy that.
So have the story be less, you can be both of these opposite powers and more, maybe peace between the light and some (not the void lords) of the void can be found and Arator is the first bridge, he knows how to be so gentle with the light even the void is able to be, conversed to and shaped to his request’s, you know sort of an extension of the light not excluding the undead, just my two cents.

The story spits in the face of everything that has been established during the old days of World of Warcraft paladin’s were not capable of using the void if they ever did use the void they lost the ability to call upon the light forever.
The fundamental forces weren’t known to play favourites or to be handled like ordinary magic.
There were consequences the more often ended into death or worse.
A paladin doubting was enough for him to lose his connection to the light a good example for that is Anduin.
And now you’re telling me that Arathor just randomly uses an inherently corrupting and entirely consuming force.
Anyone hearing Madan or is it just me

Dude why are they writing like this The reasoning for Arators madness could be better attributed to his experience with Light madness and being in the Voidstorm. That's it. Blizz needs to stop doing the dualism thing. They already established that the Light goes crazy around Void and now they are just gonna retcon it. in the next season I'm so happy that we killed our Paladin buddies for no reason now.

Wow, millennial and Gen Z self inserting themselves i to a game and completely ruining it in the process.
Arathor is the Lori of WoW.
Walking Dead Fans will get this
Mama's boy suddenly reminiscing about BOTH parents
When only a short while ago he went Mother, finding YOU was ALL I HOPED FOR.
These writers can't even follow their own continuity.
I knew why Midnight is my last Addon.

with all those deranged comments, criticizing blizzard just for the sake of being mad, im honestly unsure if i should even release my own indie game-project. saving myself the stress from people who dont know what theyre talking about. generally theres one rule in games: if you dont like it, dont play it. stop annoying everyone actually enjoying the game and find something you actually like

Well, Last Titan should apparently be a reset that all this is setting up. Maybe once they've completed the necessary storytelling they'll have have a stage to tell better stories I think they still had years of content and loose ends to work with. Here's hoping once the stage is set they'll take a hint from all the feedback they've been getting and revamp the writing department

Paladins & Priests: Why is the Light allowing this to happen Why doesn’t the Light answer We must turn to the Void!
Shamans, Druids, Evokers, and Mages: wondering why all the pallies and priest are acting dumb.
Warlocks, Demon Hunter, and Death Knight: Ha. Losers
Warriors, Hunters, Monks, and Rogues: Don’t really care. Not their monkeys, not their circus

Love how they turned a dude who stood alongside the vanguard into the outlands, a seasoned paladin and combatant who's seen a world crumbling around him swarming with unchecked demons and blood crazed orcs, into some generic empty headed boy scout. Be better Blizzard. Neutered your own game and every character who's ever been in it. Metzen should be ashamed.

The writing is so egregiously simple and on-the-nose that I just cannot take any of it seriously. The writers treat the retail wow audience of mostly 30 year old men - many raising entire families at this point - as if we're kids. It just all feels so childish that its bordering on disrespectful to our intelligence as an adult audience.

The Child of Light & Shadow prophecy is from 2017, at least the X'era part, but maybe earlier I'm not lorewalker.
The light blinds it's champions with false conviction, zealous judgement, and righteous wrath. Especially the brightest of them, the Naaru, are no exception.
Illidan is not the child of that prophecy.

reply

the child of light and dark from the prophecy of Medivh way back then. Does no one remembers it When Twilight falls the word will sunder to where it beguns I thought he meant the world tree. But Malfurion prevented it by sacrificing their immortality and killing Archimonde. Yet, now I know what Medivh meant for that reason.

So. can we kill already Arator's annoying ass Or do we wait for the last part of the exp I'm honestly so done with his character since the moment I saw him on Quel'Danas in the beggining. Seriously, how did they screw him so much when in Legion he was such a cool (and most importantly, mature, yet not annoying character
reply

This would be more of a fusion of light and darkness than how Alleria was corrupted by the void trying to harness its power and have no light of her own. Pretty much how the Preists Hero spec is doing atm for Disc. Using Light or Dark and procing both.
Void Knight or Void Elf Paladin finally here we come.

Next patch, Arator will learn to dual wield axes from troll sista, and then Thrall will teach him how to control elements. He will use his new powers to pursue after Gul'dan in the past and than he will be engulfed with felflames. But he will be able to douse the flames by patting on his wrist and concentrating.
reply

What I got from that is a flashback to BFA Mythrax sealed in Voldun which then later destroyed the seal in Zuldazar to ''unleash'' G'huun
And now there is another ancient troll seal for a C'Thraxxi, with a difference that we kinda destroyed the seal by killing Ula'tek

reply

Once again, the story turns to shit. Anyone else tired of a bunch of amateur writers trying to play around with an established IP they know nothing about I have a feeling this is the last xpac anyone will waste their time on. As if Shadowlands was bad enough
reply

Oh no, the Void is evil, the Light is evil, the Titans are evil. We can’t trust anything anymore except the power of love, friendship, family, and our ability to overcome our differences and work together. Only then can we save Azeroth.
Trash

reply

Really Awesome would be something like Highelves or Skyborne that are specilated about to become a thing and Arathor leading a group of elves that are Azeroth Bound opening up Shamanism and Druidism for the Elves. since this is about Balance
reply

Every expansion they corrupt some character and make them a villain for a few months. It's so tired. I wish they were capable of writing a narrative that wasn't basically the same plot structure on repeat every 2 years. It isn't that hard.
reply

Yeah, there's a reason why I didn't buy Midnight. I'd enjoy the pretty zones and stuff, but gods, the writing and story and characters. It's so bad. It feels even more hollow than previous expansions that were looked down upon.
