WWE superstars are no strangers to performing, and some of sports entertainment's best and brightest have been known to leap from the squared circle to the silver screen. As anyone who's seen Hulk Hogan's turn as Thunderlips in Rocky III or Rowdy Roddy Piper's 1988 cult classic They Live, this isn't a new phenomenon. However, few have been able to turn their wrestling fame to Hollywood success as well as Dwayne The Rock Johnson and Dave Bautista. The two giants of the entertainment industry once held WWE championship belts, and today, they hold something that's arguably even more valuable: The ability to sell movie tickets. Lenny: People love to say Dwayne Johnson plays the same character. I've watched almost every movie Dwayne Johnson has done including his show Ballers and can say that isn't true at all. Take Gridiron Gang where he played a consoler at a juvenile detention center who started a football team for the youth. Dwayne Johnson gave one hell of a performance in this movie. Showed he is a good actor.

Sorry, everyone, but it's obvious that Dave Batista has by far the best movie career when it comes to WWE stars and shows the most range and emotion. I mean when you look at the repertoirs and on one side, you see Blade Runner 2049, Spectre, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, and on the other side, you see San Andreas, Fast and Furious, Jumanji, Rampage and Hercules, what looks better? Dwayne Johnson has a lot of potential (as he showed us in Pain & Gain, but he seems to refuse to use it and settles for the easiest way: playing himself in every movie. Not to mention that almost all of those movies range from meh to just bad lately. Which infuriates me even more because he showed us that he has amazing potential. Playing yourself isn't acting, it's just messing around until people get tired of it. He should do more engaging roles like he used to back when his acting career had just become a thing, like in Pain & Gain and Hercules.

All 3 have some qualitities for the motion picture, but Bautista could be right about his own potential - never underestimate a true fanboy & nerd which lurks inside him when given a chance for motion picture stardom. He still just himself has to achieve a level of being able to act in diversity of roles & deepness.
But don't count The Rock out: his Black Adam movie will show if he really has acting value or will stay a(action) blockbuster star(Black Adam is was a villain, hero, anti-hero - with a personality which feels from most super-powered beings as one with real personality after all in the comics. A good script & cool looking will not be enough, after all.
And John Cena's performances in his upcoming roles could be promising, too, if he does more than taking acting classes & more than getting inside view by joining others &/or reading - he needs to dig deeper & gets emotionally into it(something which can be very dangerious as many actors proved.

Wow, Looper really played the heels here, from just mere video everyone going rampaging against these huge boys, acting not much about talent, it's just how you put in right way, in kickass athletic movie batista is more suited because he has legit mma background, and the more dialogue and trash talk is pretty good for the rock, but if real fight probably Batista won because of he's legit mma background

He told the truth. Dwayne Johnson is a Schwarzenegger, Will Smith type. We want to see him be him and don't care about a nuanced performance. Dave has more range and is a character actor. If I was to call it, Bautista is gonna win awards before Johnson but Johnson's checks will always be bigger and his star will shine brighter. John Cena is gonna John Cena.

To be honest I kind of agree, I still see him as The Rock in basically every movie he's in. If Batista really does a good job in Dune then I'll 100% agree. The Rock hasn't really done anything so profound that makes me think of him as a very good actor. The Rock is always just comedy or action or both in all his movies and he's relatively the same person.

This is barely news. Batista isn't taking shots at Dwayne, it's all just in good fun. Both men are great actors. True, most of Batista's films are straight to DVD or streaming, but he still puts in a good performance 90% of the time. I don't think he's mad at the Rock, I think he's just upset that no one takes him seriously.

Dwayne Johnson plays the role of a nerdy, terrified teenager stuck in a video game in Jumanji Welcome To The Jungle and does a damn good job. In Fast Five he plays Luke Hobbs, a lethal military agent who does anything it takes to track down who's ever name hits his desk. He brings them in dead or alive.

TBH I actually am starting to like Dave as an actor, yes the Rock has had more success and he has a lot more charisma but Dave has a lot to bring to the plate, he's definitely getting better plus I also believe he has a lot more mobility than Dwayne Johnson, but that's just my opinion
