Saw it with my family and we liked it a lot. There is a ton to analyze afterward, such as religious symbolism: crosses, to angels (and LA is the city of angels ) to even the choice of Deacon as Denzel s character s last name. The no angels quote is also telling of the moral ambiguity. I think it is that ambiguity, or lack of clear good vs. evil that made this a less-than-ideal watch the first time around. That said, it was a a good narrative of how criminology (warts and all) is an imperfect science, and will stand the test of time.

Oh man it was not a good story. The acting was decent and some shots were cool but that ploy was thoughtless. The movie goes from a tight serial killer detective cat and mouse to a sloppy exploration of the unwitting sacrifices of dedicated cops who accidentally commit murder. What? The first 3/4 of the movie are compelling but it falls apart in the last bit. I still don t know what the movie was trying to present or even why it was made.

I saw the movie. I loved it. People who watch it and hate it just don t like slow burn films and want something more intense with action. This movie makes you think about the small stuff that happens in it and makes you wonder about how to solve a cold case and a homicide investigation and how the work can get to you making you obsessed and doing anything to get the culprit

I wasn t going to watch this, but after reading the negative reviews, I knew this would be up my alley. If you like _Transformers_ this isn t for you. If you like _No Country for Old Men_ then it s totally for you.

I can t believe you said must watch. This is unfortunately a below average film. There where bad cuts and overall messy writing! No star power can change a script that s been re written a handful of times.

Nowhere near a must watch. It's worth a look for sure, but the script, pacing, editing and ending were less than they should be. Not a total waste of time, but not as good as it could have been.

Movie was an absolute waste of time. Acting was on point but went no where by the end. Almost literally. Don't watch this if you prefer things resolved in your movies

Movie was pretty good, way above average, which isn't surprising given the stellar cast. I loved the subtle quality feel to it and its soft but decisive rhythm.

It was ok but honestly wasn't memorable say like Seven no nail biting scenes my opinion but I think all the talent involvement was wasted
