The problem for House Of The Dragon is quite straightforward, season 8 was a commercial exercise to attract as many fans as possible, in doing so lost all credibility with people who stayed with it during the widening plotlines, patient character building, all the interesting themes of the first six series, season seven, in hindsight, started the decline. Instead of the euphoric experience, when years of perseverance gets rewarded with a satisfying conclusion, we got that shitshow, the writers butchered the franchise and left us with a corpse covered in dollar bills. Move along folks, nothing to see here.

I personally say that Game of Thrones ended in season 6. We have yet to see an actual season 7 and season 8. Maybe someday we will be able to see season 7 and season 8. Much like how there has been 6 Fantastic Four films. yet we have never had a Fantastic Four film because what we had so far was horrible.
I am however happy and cant wait to watch House of the Dragon. Hopefully it will be awesome.

Regarding season 8, I think some fans forget it s not THEIR story. It s the writers story. When things don t end the way THEY think it should, they riot and petition. But then the story would no longer belong to the writers, it would be just fan service.

The trailer makes this series look interesting. but honestly I d rather have a spin-off on Robert s Rebellion or even the events leading up to the doom of Valeria. I think it would be cool to see a civilization so advanced in such a prior age of time.

This show has a lot to make up for after the bad ending in the other show. Don't know how they'll drag all those viewers back after that mess. Hopefully it's good.
