In a world where you have to wear an adult diaper to a Marvel movie because they're like 3 hours long with no intermission, you're telling me that DC had a whole movie that was a complete thought and it would not be so long that you would have to tell your loved ones good bye in case any of them aged out while you were in the theater, and they chose to shelve it? Are they crazy? This is the movie length we need. And how disrespectful to the people who worked on that movie. That's just a waste.

Maybe DC remembered the Halle Berry Catwoman fiasco and didn t want to take the same risk. At least Marvel wasn t afraid to screen both Captain Marvel (which made 1. 125 Billion) and Black Widow (whose performance was affected by Disney s action to show it on Disney+ as well as in theaters, affecting its overall take); at least Marvel was willing to show its heroines which may not be as well known as Wonder Woman but both still were successes.
Fortune favors the bold.
Who dares, wins.

Scrapping Batgirl was the best thing that could've happened. Casting a Latina actress to play Barbara Gordon makes about as much sense as casting Michael B. Jordan to play Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four. When will Hollywood learn that representation must be earned, not given? It can't come from constantly casting nonwhite actors as white characters created by white writers, it must come from nonwhite artists and writers creating their own characters and stories.

While I'm sad for all those cast & crew who obviously put in time, effort & money into making this, if I'm honest, literally the only aspect of it I was remotely interested in, was seeing Michael Keaton again, the 'Bat family, ' with the exception of maybe Alfred, have always seemed to me, surplus to requirements in the Batman world & as such, I wont be terribly upset at not having a film about Batgirl or Robin or Nightwing, you name it.

Yeeeeah, they can go screw themselves. Considering the other cancelled films, 70% team layoff on HBO Max, the removal of films from the service, and their announced company decision to move away from scripted shows, I don't think Discovery are all that interested in the creative side. Though, you'd have to be blind not to see that, what with their entire library being a lineup of trashy, cheap to make, reality TV.

It was a tough business decision Wbd made yesterday. If you think about it rushing marketing can balloon out of proportion financially if the film doesn't make a quarterly of it budget back at the box office. Reports say it cost around 75 to 90 million to produce. Which the film would have to make about 180 too 200 million in the domestic box office.

What do you expect from a movie directed by the guys who brought us Ms. Marvel and Bad boys for life?
The real reason this movie was canned is because it was absolute rubbish, and the studio was too embarrassed to show it. Better to write it off as a tax deductible than fry peoples brains with it's total awfulness! I thank them for that.

I'm not saying DC is racist, however:
Black lightning cancelled
Batwoman cancelled
Green lantern dead before it even started
Batgirl dead AFTER filming the whole thing
MEANWHILE.
the flash is still a go with crazy ass (white) Ezra Miller and Aquaman 2 is a go with crazy ass (white) amber heard. It's a bad look.

Considering the actors cast for the movie seemed great, I can only assume the writing and directing was not up to par rather than the acting. It's a shame the studio couldn't have just contracted a screenplay and directing from people who know what they're doing, i. e. filmmaking professionals who prioritize art over politics.

I understand canceling the theatrical release but why not show it on HBO max at least? If it s a finished film, what have you got to lose? I mean, even if it s terrible crappy movies exist in the streaming world. It s ok.

WB is a cluster when it comes to the DCEU. The best movies they've done - Aquaman, WW #1, and Shazam - happen to be the ones that feel the most like a MCU movie. They really did everything wrong. They need their own Feige.

The Batgirl TV series is so God Awful the CW literally destroys all DC projects hahaha the first seasons are always cool but they end up turning into comical pieces of garbage. The Flash is a prime example

It's just disappointing, for the fans and actors/film makers. I hope they do release it eventually. To me it doesn't matter on what platform, Batgirl is one of my favorite heros from the comics

Should've done what SONY did with The Interview and just scrapped all theatrical/streaming releases and just put it on DVD. I bought that BRAND NEW movie at Wal-Mart for 7. 50 when it came out
