Fan-favorite mobsters, rising stars, and tragic icons. On the biggest night in Hollywood, the Oscars In Memoriam segment had some major snubs. gmcjetpilot: The memoriam segment was very short and doubled up two per screen. Fuzzing out name, clearing one at a time odd. It was to avoid the appearance of flashing through them quickly. Not to take away from agents, set designers, foreign actors, but for TV audience not industry insider would like to see actors / people theyknow. Robert Blake, Anne Heche (granted controversial lives and death in Anne's) should have been in there. They had Japanese actor. I looked her up. Interesting. It should have been much longer list, go through them faster one at a time.

You know what? All these award ceremony is a just a pile of craps! We all that these are fixed or scripted or bought. And I am not only talking about the Oscars or Nobles, but everything. As for an artist (artist means a singer, writer, author, performer or anyone who is a creative person) the real award is the love of the fans and followers, as long as the fans and followers cherish his works or creation or celebrate it or like it or enjoy it or mesmerized by it, they will always loved and lived.

I'm not sure what's worst: being left out of the broadcast or having their picture quickly zoom by or maybe having the camera focus on the singer while the memoriam is playing in the background. This year the Oscars left off so many. They have them on the online memoriam but that doesn't make up for leaving out Paul Sorvino, Stella Stevens, Clarence Gilyard, Leslie Jordan, Tom Sizemore, Anne Heche, Fred Ward and others from the broadcast.

Many of these programs leave people out. No one seems to knows why! In 2017 the Grammies left out Christina Grimmie, a rising star who was gunned down by a deranged fan. Just as bad the Teen Choice awards left her out of a gun violence segment naming victims and did not mention that she had won Choice Web Star. Oh, but the Grammies did include Mohamed Ali in the memorial segment. A great athlete but not a great musician.

I say this as respectfully as I can. Oscar is notorious for doing this. They seem to include a lot of individuals that no one has ever heard of. The BAFTA ceremony included more Americans in the entertainment field than Oscar. The SAG ceremony does a nice job as well. Thank you so much for honoring so many that were excluded in the In Memoriam segment.

Actually surprised Melinda Dillon wasn t included considering she was a two time Oscar nominee for Best Supporting Actress (Close Encounter of the Third Kind and Absence of Malice. Well the Academy may have forgotten her, but millions of her fans will continue to remember her every Christmas season as long as TNT has any say.

They were probably more concerned with that awful vocal and coordinating the timing of it with the visuals. They should have omitted some of those non actor mentions, after all the vast majority of audience viewers have no idea who those people are anyway. Not very well done.

The Tom Sizemore snub pissed me off big time! The Paul Sorvino stunt was not cool and they honour his co-star Ray Liotta who played the lead role! Congratulations Academy you intentionally disrespected these amazing talented human beings shame on you!

They ALWAYS leave people out and it doesn t make sense! Idc if the segment is 2 hours long, don t disrespect the dead, their fans and family especially well known. It s always someone they left out and you d think they d learn their lesson by now.

Since Gilbert Gottfried died April 12, 2022, I think his snub would have been from the ceremony in 2022. This year they also forgot, Pat Carroll, Stella Stevens, Melinda Dillon, David Warner and Topol. They should just add them next year.

Oscars is all about what they want you to see. I would say the curtain behind Oz has been lifted, it's a older shorter gentleman with a large mustache telling you to look away, don't pay attention I am the great and powerful OZ!

The Oscars have been pointless except to stroke a few pre-selected egos. The best can easily go unrewarded because it/they did not make enough money for Hollywood's pleasure. Quality and financial gain are not the same thing,

What gets me is there are NO time limits, even though they want us to believe that is a factor. Cut a few of Kimmel's jokes, and there was ample time to show everyone named in this thread! Not even a lot, just a couple!

They also left out fan favourites Kevin Conroy and Jason David Frank - admittedly neither, to my knowledge, was ever in anything up for Oscar contention, but they were still in the industry, and loved by millions.

I'd bet they included some mysterious name who had a single, 20-second appearance in some film that nobody saw 50 years ago.
Whoever passed on Sorvino, Heche, Sizemore, and the rest need to be given a new job.
