I feel like The Expanse should've been on this list. It seemed like there was more to be explained about the creators of the proto molecule and why they built the gateways. And I was completely lost at the end about the little girl and her brother. Did he die? Was he then, somehow reanimated? Why? Or was his body possessed by an alien entity? If so, for what purpose?

You missed that the original Battlestar Galactica would have been better named Mormons In Space. Literally: it turned points of Mormon doctrine into plot points. And in the end, the rebooted series did the same thing. Keep this in mind, and both shows make a lot more sense.

Fringe writers were lucky that in the final season they were able to time skip forward and tell the story they had planned for the final season. There may have been some loose threads but the ending was satisfying. The only thing we missed out on is the story between season 4&5

Some viewers had trouble. Dark is brilliantly perfect, Fringe was excellent, Battlestar Galactica(2003) one of the best ever, if theses some viewers had trouble, then maybe intelligent sci-fi is not for them and they should stick to pew-pew shootem-up 2 dimensional shows.

All except of Dark are normal/good mystery shows that were cheap to produce and hence became financial successes. Instead of leaving it all shrouded in mist and pack up, they subsequently tried (or were urged) to milk the last drop out of the franchise.
