I am going to be really controversial. I did not like this movie at all. I found it to be way too full of itself to be any good. I went in with amazing expectations, especially after watching the trailer, and I was verily disappointed. As a character, Lady Bird is unlikable at best and intolerably histrionic at worst. The mother is toxic and unsympathetic. The only performance that shone for me was Tracy Letts as Lady Bird's father; he injected realism and subtlety into his role that made me sympathize with him.

The casting was honestly brilliant in this movie. Every single person, no matter how big or small their part was, did an amazing job. You watch this film and are able to so easily connect with these characters. The writing is part of that but it's really the brilliant acting that brings them to life. Lucas Hedges has a supporting role, but has one of the most heartfelt and poignant moments in the film.

I loved it! It was like watching on screen the relationship between my 23 yr old granddaughter and her mother, my daughter, right before my eyes. But its also a repeat version of my own relationship with my own daughter, and my past relationship with my mother. how life repeats itself. over and over again.

One of those very rare (once a decade) movies that you immediately want to watch over again. Entire cast down to smallest role is perfect. check out the actor who plays the football coaching priest who takes over the role of the drama club leader.

I watched this movie, and I can honestly say it was like I was watching my life right now. I have never seen a movie in which I see myself, my peers, my family and so many others in a movie, and that is absolutely beautiful. Beautiful.

Saoirse Ronan is killing it! what a talent of this young actress, in my opinion along with Rooney Mara the two best actresses of his generation. no J Lawrence no Emma Stone this two are too mainstream too fake to my taste.

Personally, I found the character of Lady Bird to be so unlikeable that I didn't think the movie was all that good. Laurie Metcalf, however, was wonderful. I much preferred Three Billboards to this movie.

I called it with both the boys in the movie. At 17 I wouldn't of been able to. That's how old I felt while watching the film but it definitely gave me nostalgia for that time in my life.
